  • Failed on the ironing front, so will crack on whilst the boys are out tomorrow.

It really has been a good day and the first relatively pain free one for a month due to a few complications.

Feeling much more like old self, but want to feel able to walk the dogs. That's a task for the weekend.

    Best wishes Tilly x

Busy times Tilly, great update and lots of very MSE actions! Where on earth did you manage to get so many chicken carcasses from? Did I miss something?

Glad you're feeling a bit better and know what you mean about the dog walking. The dogs are my measure for if I'm actually doing OK ~ if I can get them out under my own steam, then all's well with the world (well, the body at least)! So I hope the weather's kind to you this weekend and you get a good walk in!

Switched early evening bone removal to late night bone removal :rotfl: Can't believe I've just taken all the bones out, put the stock into a container and I can skim the fat in the morning. There's an extremely large bowl of chicken to use :)

Kitchen is tidy and all the washing up done. Nothing is being put off. If something needs to be done, we are doing our utmost to do it straight away.

Starting the weekend with just a small amount of washing and ironing and we're having an UNO competition tomorrow night. Rib Eye steak, salad and crusty bread for dinner tomorrow.

Pizza's tonight were fab. Mr T makes a mean pizza base and toppings were bargainous chorizo, hams, peppers, chilli's, plus bits and bobs to use up from the fridge. Tomato 'spread' was Tom paste, a little garlic and chilli and onion chutney.

After not sleeping well last night, I've deliberately stayed up later and hopefully will get some good quality sleep.

    Happy Weekend all,

Do you have a recipe link for the pizza base at all? I like the idea of trying homemade pizzas :)

    Hope you sleep well x
  • Hi Cal,

    http://www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2009/sep/05/hugh-fearnley-whittingstall-pizza

This is the same recipe as in one of his cookbooks. Secret is the hot oven and keep the base thin :)

Really quick to make and Mr T pops the dough into an oiled bowl, covers in cling film and leaves in the airing cupboard to prove.

    Good luck, Tilly x

  • Morning, slept like a log from about 1am until 8am :T:T:T:T

Dd has downloaded Charades Free from G@@gle Play and it's hilarious. For anyone with a smart phone and kids, can highly recommend. Just puts a modern twist on a good old fashioned favourite.

UNO night will be shared with charades :)

    Jobs for today:

Have a go at walking the dogs with Mr T
Pop into V!rgin for DS ISA
    Finish washing and ironing
Buy a green veg of some description

If anyone reads my diary who understands how the wonderful Elite team buys their shopping, would you be willing to give me a lesson to help me understand the mechanisms for price checking etc? I'd be extremely grateful.

Have a good day and no rain here.

  • Hi Tilly - the pizza recipe looks like it could be a winner! I've tried various ones over the years, but never really got on with any of them - I think maybe we made them too thick, to your point! :o

Also how many pizza's does the recipe make? There is only me and DH so we'd only need two at the most... So will have to adjust qty's acc!

Glad you seem to be on the mend! (I'm a serial lurker!:D)
I have lots of sympathy, I've been under strict bed/tv only orders (little movement as possible) after an op - only for just over a week though thankfully - that has been enough to drive me mad  and I can honestly say I don't think I've ever watched as much TV in my life  I also now know why we very rarely watch it :rotfl:

Good luck with the dog walk - I'm also off today for a first gentle walk with our hounds this morning - I can't wait, I've missed it terribly :o
