Oh, shame you put that was about to ask :rotfl:1 -
Morning TwinnyD, aaaaggggghhhhhh my DH omitted to mention that there was a load of stuff in the TD waiting to be rescued so my tiny ironing pile, jumped to 45 mins worth. However its all done now. Dare I admit in virtual public, that I find ironing incredibly restful. You start off with a jumble of stuff and end up with lovely neat piles of clothes and beautifully pressed shirts on hangers - lovely.
I think I probably have to get out more
Have a good day

Tilly, I'm super impressed by your love or ironing.
My confession is that i never iron unless I have something specific that needs to be done. I take everything from the tumble dryer and either fold nicely or hang it up. The only things that really need to ironed are DH's shirts and he does those himself every couple of weeks.
I've never ironed any of the children's clothes!
Have a great day, L1 -
Good Lord - how would I fill my spare time:rotfl:
Our DD will probably be the same as you - she thinks I am mad but in all seriousness, it does help me not to get so stressed.
Glorious day today, blue sky but cold. Looking forward to a break at lunchtime and a run with the dog. Will blow away some cobwebs.
Hope Heathrow is not too manic.

I am the same lulabelle - I only iron the kids school uniforms and his work stuff. Everything else can get stuffed! :rotfl: I regularly tell my friends that I don't believe in ironing. Can't see the point tbh.Rule 7: If you're not changing it, you're choosing it.

Yep, that's what I love. I leave out the jumble of clothes on a Monday and they are returned to me all beautifully pressed and on hangers on Tuesday! :rotfl:
Yes, I do have to hand over a little cheque , but boy is it worth it!
Good news on the BT butt-kicking and Shred progress :T2 -

Sounds like me, used to iron before I had little ones but gave up when they were born and only iron now for special occasions!
Tilly hope you enjoyed your run with the dog1 -
I do laundry and oh does food. That way we play to our strengths. I love ironing too!Paid off mortgage nine years early in 2013. Now picking and choosing our work to fit in with the rest of our lives!
Still thrifty though, after all these years:D1 -
hi tilly, thought I'd pop into your thread after your lovely words and encourgaement on mine. Thank you.
as for the ironing though... I ws paid as a teenager 3.50 to do all the families ironing every week, this included some 15-20 shirts. this was on top of my saturday job in woolworths and my sunday job at a restaurant (parents were very keen to instil a work ethic!) however as I got paid whether I ironed my stuff or not I developed a "dishevelled chic" look and have never looked back: sort of works when you're 14, when you're 40, not so much!
3.50 however sounds way more profitable than on-line surveys....:AA/give up smoking (done)1 -
Hi, I have written a number of responses today and each time my iPad has closed down. So frustrating.
Thanks to all for sharing ironing trends - I managed to finish off the stuff I washed this afternoon so starting the weekend with a clean sheet :rotfl:
We are off to London tomorrow to visit a couple of galleries and a general mooch. Should be quite a low spendy day though.
I will do my best to ignore the shops as I really don't want/need anything and as I am now running and shredding it, I am starting to lose a few lbs. Marvellous news.
I will stop now in case this one drops as well. Tomorrow night I need to replan menus, I intended to do the other day but didn't get round to it.
SJ, I haven't forgotten the euro company - will pm you over the weekend,
I seem to have run out of time for everything over the last 2-3 days but feeling very optimistic and positive which is great.
Have a good weekend, best wishes Tilly x2004 £387k 29 years - MF March 2033:eek:
