Goodness, action on the BT front. The high level support team have emailed and will be 'owning the problem through to end resolution'. Marvellous

Tilly!
I have to say, I am impressed your rage must have the effects of an earthquake in the BT tower .. and am ashamed to say that I haven't got a clue about the Archers thing you mentioned earlier

Hiya FroggyG, all I can say is 'bring it on'. I think my low of Sunday is well and truly over and I am back to firing on all cylinders. Let's see what happens, but a recording of the last call with the contact centre was included - and we did tell them we were recording it. DH didn't say 'for training purposes' but was oh so tempted.
Mr Tilly played the recording back to me and it was quite comical. I do feel it is disheartening though, the guys in the contact centre will have fully documented processes and procedures, yet clearly don't follow them consistently.

Maybe we're going to get lucky here Tilly with our complaints - I also heard a response from my supermarket email and apparently I now have a Case Worker investigating things :rotfl:. Hope you get some good news at your end and maybe a little reimbursement that could go towards your OPs.1

Hey PCG, it does the heart good to know someone is listening but what a shame we have to go to these lengths to get people to demonstrate the right behaviour.
On the reimbursement front, DH has that at the forefront of his mind and yes, it would be hitting the OP pot. WooHoo I can add that to the extra money per month from the new mobile - they say things come in 3s - now what else can I sort out this evening..........
Good luck and keep me posted, we could be having a mini celebration by the end of the week.

Hi Tilly
We sold an iPhone a little while ago now on Mazuma (I think) and it commanded a lovely price. They were v efficient with a prepaid envelope and the cash in our account the next day. Not sure if you would be able to do better on ebay or not but might be worth a little look.
Love complaining too. I rang home ins provider today, having done a little research I knew that their quote was pretty competitive and I don't want to move really as they are v good when we have little accidents (which does happen pretty often in our household) and they knocked £40 off just by having a nice conversation with them - it all helps!

Hi SJ1, I see we are on line at the same time again - well done on the insurance, it just goes to show "if you don't ask, you don't get".
I have started tracking all these small wins on a spreadsheet (I know but I can't help myself ), and I am transferring the saved monies to my Xmas and/or OP pots. I have had a bet with DH that during 2012 I can generate enough additional funds to cover Xmas :T. Not sure he really believes me, but I am giving it a go.
I also need to rejig my freezer and do an updated freezer list (yes another spreadsheet) and change my meal plan. Having two lodgers now, means I need to change my plans a bit, and the young lad needs more carbs I think. He's off running frequently so I want to make sure I am looking after him. I should have had 10 kids, not two:rotfl:
I have another day working from home tomorrow and hope to finish off my plans for the new role. Looking forward to deploying these plans and feel really motivated to bring some quick wins. Anyhow, that's more work talk, so back to family life Tilly......
I have potatoes on the windowsills, sitting in egg boxes chitting. The spell check thingy came up with chatting then, but I don't think there is much chatter coming from the potatoes:p. I have updated the raised bed plans (yes more spreadsheets) and am taking someone's advice to try cucumbers, which is completely new to me. Apologies I can't recall who recommended them, but I really appreciate the advice.
DH and I have shredded it this evening, so did feel a little out of puff earlier. I guess it is getting easier but slow progress.
I think it is time for an early night, so have a good week all.

Tilly (and maybe Cath) What sort of value are second hand iphone whatsits? I went for a cheap as chips phone deal whilst I save up for a smartphone. I could be interested in an MSE 2nd hand smartphone so do feel free to post or PM me with an idea of what you would want for it and we might be able to do a deal and save you on the ebay fees?
I liked ATT's post - I am very much enjoying not working for a US leader anymore, very nice change, but I still oragnise facetime with DHTerrible how we absorb nonsense phrases into our vocabulary!

Hi Katsu, sounds like an option. I will research eBay tomorrow and PM you, or Cath can. You also said the magic words FaceTime. I have to FT someone over the weekend and haven't tried it before. Any advice on what to do is much appreciated.
What makes me laugh is I actually don't notice on occasions that I am using US corporate speak (that's not what DH calls it though...). However, it is helping me to clear the mahoosive mortgage so I can't complain.
Have a good week and I will get back to you.

Thanks Tilly,
Afraid our US people used facetime as an expression, so I've not used the apple FT. I use stuff like skype, gotomeeting and other programes of that ilk. Booking facetime was often used on project teams for aranging to actually see the person, which is how it has come into our house (and many of my colleagues'). I say to DH that I am feeling lonely and need some facetime with him!
I also agree I find my job busy, but I appreciate what it gives me for OP, savings and a comfortable life - especially listening to the radio tonight saying we are heading back to recession as a world
Fingers crossed for all of us.Debt at highest: £8k. Debt Free 31/12/2009. Original MFD May 2036, MF Dec 2018.0
