  • Woohoo, £12.32 per month - for mobile phone from February so a reduction £22.68 a month which is good news.

Just writing to the chairman of BT to provide some customer feed back on the lack of ownership and customer service. I like having arrived at the age when a letter of complaint is a delight (or rather an email).

Before last year I never made one official complaint, but a broken laptop with PC World forced me to write a 3 page letter of complaint. It felt great and they sorted it straight away for me and even called me to check I was happy.

Since then i've done it a couple more times :rotfl:

Well done on new job Tilly. I've also felt rather low but it sees it could be due to the time of year. My i-phone contract with Orange ends in April so I need to look out for either a sim only deal or a new i-phone with cashback and then I could sell mine.

    Hi Tilly :j

Well done on the mobile savings!

I hang my head in shame..Since discovering MSE, I have been known to write a few letters/emails of complaints.. Am sorry, I just don't like to be ripped off..I have even done it for work.. I have to say that I have been 100% successful so far, and have always managed to either get a discount/freebies or money back..

    Cheers

  • Hi LP, well mail to chairman of BT now sent. I cannot believe the attitude of the staff and clearly there are training needs which require addressing. However, lovely detailed mail complete, to hit some annonymous mail box, purporting to be chairman. However, at least following their procedures, I guess it will require a response and thus investigation of the issues.

It does feel good to get it down in black and white.

    Best wishes Tilly

Hi FroggyG, i don't often go on a rampage like this, but I also had Orange call, to ask why I was leaving, so very politely, I told them. Sadly there wasn't a lot the poor guy could say and I was not rude or aggressive, just very calm, which I am sure is even more infuriating.

Now, is there anyone else on my list i can write to - doing me the world of good.

  • Hi CathT, thanks for your kind words. I am excited about my new role and certainly getting stuck in. I am normally a very optimistic person, but I guess we all have moments of hanging our heads. Not to worry though, it is back up on my shoulders and I have had a very good couple of days. Although boy do the weeks go quickly.

I am going to eBay my iPhone and they seem to command good resale values - I had thought about just getting GiffGaff sim, but the deal I have now works out better for my needs. Good luck and push hard as there are some good deals to be had but you definitely have to hunt them out.

Have a good week Tilly x

  • Well done on your letters of complaint! :T I recently complained to my supermarket about poor quality, but pricy, produce and am waiting on a response - hopefully we will both hear good things. And cannot believe the terrific deal on your new mobile :j. Outstanding result. My DH will be free from his iPhone contract next month and as the phone is totally gubbed, he's looking around for something new. I'd love to give him some great advice to demonstrate how useful it is spending all my free time on this forum  ... any tips gratefully received.
  • Hi PCG, I would check TCB and Quidco but also push your current provider hard, plus use their offer as leverage when speaking to new providers.

It's straight forward stuff but for some reason we are often reluctant to push on the price.

Good luck - I am delighted as its a bit more in the OP pot

    Best wishes Tilly

  • Well we have had a response from the Chairman - or at least from his manned mail box - and the complaints are being investigated by the high level customer complaint team........:rotfl: not sure whether that means they sit on a mezzanine floor :rotfl: but at least the problems are being owned now. Fingers crossed we will achieve a satisfactory outcome, with a stable broadband line and a clear view of when infinity will be with us.

Anyway, I am off to listen to The Archers - I haven't told you about my addiction before, so I hope you don't all disown me. It is my one significant weakness :D. Well perhaps not the only one as I love my spreadsheets too.
