Quite popular at our house at mo. The girls like cold pasta anyway so are taking a variety on different days to school (cheesy or bolognaise) whereas I like the bolognaise and warm up at work. Seems to be quite a cheap option and filling. I'm hoping less calories than sandwiches as well?? I do different sizes, as I eat more!
Your grocery spend makes me hang my head in shame, I am really trying though...Morgage till Nov 30 GOAL MFW Sept 2016Aug 11 - £100k Aug 2016.... It's GONE!!!!!
2014 GOAL HIT 5 Stone! 2016 GOAL to be a MF marathon runner.

Hi HKD, my grocery spend definitely shouldn't make you feel like that. It just goes to show how much I've got in the freezer that we can even contemplate getting through January on such little spends. I feel quite embarrassed about the amount of stuff in there. It makes Mr T and the kids laugh and I'm sure our lodger thinks I have two freezers :rotfl:
I do have wiggle room in some drawers now though
I must admit though I'm looking forward to OPing my remaining food savings pot when I am paid next.
That and two council tax payments:)

Hi Tilly , hope this cold leaves you soon , maybe take some dissolvable VitC with Zinc ? I find it helps me deal with the dreaded lurgy
Thanks for the email re potatoes will deff try that out, I started making mock ups of a menu plan last night and found it really helpful to add the plans bit and the tasks bit
Don't stress too much about the other bits just when you have time, you have much more important things to be doing just now ... Not ire if I should say publicly but good luck to the individual currently under stress ( kinda cryptic but I'm sure you get it)

Hi, never heard of taking Zinc with vit C.
Didn't get the stressed reference so maybe that's me :rotfl:
I haven't forgotten about the other stuff, ah stressed could relate to DD and her exams?
Brain needs to go to sleep and I'm listening to Miranda on iPlayer and I can't stop laughing

Yep i was meaning DD wasn't sure whether to our that public or not
You can get dissolvable VitC with zinc added ... I tend to take 3 a day ( even though your only meant to take one) till the cold starts going, I've found my colds last less than half their old time this way1 -

I think I may have worked out Tilly's extreme grocery saving HDK. She does go through rather a lot of lodgers don't you think? I don't wish to cast aspersions, but just saying........:D
Glad you're on the mend Tilly:)February13 - £74990 (or thereabouts)
MND - Let's go for 2020 'cos it's got a nice ring to it:D

Morning, no a/c tidies to do
Feeling much better today so will do a bit of kettle bell and medicine ball work.
No clue whether I will get the ironing done. I had thought of going into the office but realised I need to make the fish pie, so will stay at home.
Very mundane update, but I will be adding vit c with zinc to my shopping list on Saturday, wonder what that will do to my spend :rotfl:

Not sure how my lodger ad would if that were the case :rotfl:
I've just been reading a thread about grocery shopping and some if the weekly figures are huge. The :money: article on reducing supermarket spends is interesting to read. Good link to a site checking out similar products and gives red/amber/green salt warnings. Really helpful. I'll stick to porridge I think.
Have a good day.

Still lurking on your board getting ideas, glad to here that you are feeling better today. I am having real problems planning menu's ( have read that you plan weeks in advance) would you be willing to pm me your ideas, batch cooking, menus etc. (so that I can borrow them)
p.s like your new MFD 31 12 2015
I like the sound of that,
It just might be doable for me!!!!!:jHelenDaveKids wrote: »Seriously need to copy ideas for batch cooking, seem to have stuck on mince and onion pies, sheps pie, lasagne and bolognaise. Briefly done chicken - stew and pie. Did try to make a meat loaf but what I created was just downright yuck!
Have been using every tin, lunch box and dish and cramming in freezer but the bags seem a good idea. Currently doing loads of little pots of pasta for kids lunches.1
