You might like reading the Fly Lady thread. That's been my approach at home for years, but I hadn't read it before MSE, it was interesting to see it has a name. Little and often seems to work for us.
I tried Fly Lady a couple of months ago but didn't even manage the first day!!...but you've inspired me to give it another go this week. Oh no:eek::eek::eek:, what have I just committed myself to now lol!:D Off to hunt out the thread and see what jobs I have to do tomorrow.

Hi Ayeshalush, good luck with your jobs, I do try to only touch things once, doesn't always help as some tasks are made up of many mini tasks. However where possible that's my approach - hard work getting the kids to follow suit :rotfl: DSs bedroom is looking a little better though. I can see the carpet which is always a good sign ...

I find Flylady hard due to working full time and being out at least 3 nights Monday-Thursday. Most of the housework gets done at the weekend but I'd like to do it more regularly.
Glad to see you had nice festivities. We got rained off around 7pm it was freezing until then but we braved it!1 -
Glad you enjoyed the parties, it has been very wet though hasnt it- typical bank holiday I guess!!

Not gonna volunteer for flylady, drive myself crazy enough with the moneysaving side of things! :rotfl: good luck though!1 -
You iron bedding Tilly?

Hi Katsu, just catching up and listening to the jubilee concert :T
Never iron sheets but always iron quilt covers - cant beat snuggling down into a beautifully laundered bed :j
Evening all, I do have a cleaner now thanks to advice from you guys - so the touch it once approach seems ok to me. Also helps to have a place for everything - may be an old adage but helps to find things if you know where they live.
Have had a fab weekend and beautiful lunch with family today - feel very blessed.
Sorry to hear the news about Prince Philip and hope he makes a speedy recovery. Must be difficult for HRH to be present at the concert when she must want to be with her husband. All good wishes

Afternoon, not sure what is happening with the weather but beginning to wish I had stowed away in GGs hand luggage

NSD with a couple of hours of volunteering thrown in. Dogs came too and had a mad old time running around like lunatics.
Looking forward to a 3 day week so Friday night will be here in no time. I am sorting the freezer late today as I've thrown in quite a lot of bargainous stuff and need to know what's where.
Lodgers money will arrive tomorrow due to BH and I am paid in two weeks. £5 HX money arrived this month - I forgot to post about that. DH has opened his account but I don't feel I can risk opening a 3rd, so will have to settle for £10 per month.
We are planning a car boot for early in July - much stuff has been cleared out but we have no clue abut what does and doesn't sell - Mr Tilly has tons of CD singles which may make someone happy, along with some books, plus kids clothes, a few gardening bits etc. I have started two big boxes in the garage and stuff is being dumped in them as I come across more. May result in more decluttering so no bad thing

Have you looked at Music Magpie (for CDs and DVDs) or Zapper (for CDs, DVDs and books)? Both are straightforward to deal with and pay postage. They don't tend to pay much per item, but neither do car boot sales, and you don't have to stand about in the rain!
I have found both quite good for decluttering - worth looking at CD prices on both for comparison, to make sure you get the best deal.1 -
Hi Dawn, music M don't seem to take singles, well not MrTs anyway and zappe£ weren't interested in the books when we tried - no clue why as there are some really good ones

You have gently reminded me that Mr T had sorted a large box of CD/DVDs but I can't recall whether they were picked up so many thanks. I will ask him now
Have a good night. Tilly x
