Morning Tilly,
I have closed unwanted cards as well. Couldn't see any reason for keeping them, though like you, not sure if I was missing a trick. If I decided I wanted them again, I could always reapply - and if sufficient time had elapsed, be eligible for any introductory offers.1 -
Failed on the dog walk, it's going to have to be mid morning between calls now. As we always walk the dogs early in the morning, it's amazing the way you feel by not doing. I feel really guilty plus the dogs are not impressed with us at all

Hi, fitted in the dog walk so they both spent the morning asleep - if only the two legged creatures could as well. I feel quite bushed.
All going well on the spends front, and I checked the bank today and realised it was payday for DH - I am not normally so forgetful

:j:j:j it's Friday :j:j:j
I managed to grab a free card from Mr T. Every little helps........
We have woken up to blue sky so are definitely cracking on and taking the dogs out. We had a great now out, although it started later than we thought, however, that meant I could finish all the ironing. As I am out all day tomorrow, I wanted to get ahead of the game if I could.
I am feeling in a positive place at the monent. However right now, I feel on top of my game, I just hope this isn't a 'pride before a fall' thing. It is such a relief to see things sorted and clean. As all the major spending is complete, DH and I have taken all CC and switch cards out of wallet/purse. We do have some cash though,so don't think we have gone totally mad. We have had some home improvements done which cost slightly more than anticipated, so we are both following the fiscal fast challenge.
Right, must drink my cuppa, otherwise I will have two grumpy dogs.

Hi Tilly
Just to say thanks so much for the PM, I have printed it off so I can refer to it again and again!!
One little thing, is it better, do you think, to cook from frozen or do you tend to defrost first and then cook or does it make any difference. Does it make any difference to the taste of things like lasagne? Also I take it from what you are saying that you do freeze things with mash on top like the fish pie? Someone told me not to do that, and to put it on top but I have no idea why !!
Just need to order the freezer now - yikes!!
Thanks again:)

Hey SJ, hope Tilly doesn't mind me jumping in but I regularly cook lasagna from frozen and it doesn't make any difference to the taste. I use those pyrex dishes with the plastic lids, take it from the freezer and put it in the oven when I turn the oven on and it usually takes about 1.5 hours rather than 45 minutes if done from the fridge. Guess it depends how much time you have before you want to eat... I've also done cottage pie from the freezer and it works really well, although tends to work best if you build it when the meat mix and mash are both cold. Not tried fish pie as the troops won't eat it :undecidedRule 7: If you're not changing it, you're choosing it.

Hi SJ, I tend to take stuff from the freezer the night before and pop in the oven when needed. I always put the mash on fish pie before freezing and again defrost before cooking. Haven't had any problems.
Good luck with your plans and freezer buying.

Evening, have had a fab weekend so far, despite the rain. Dogs have had a mammoth walk and i am sure one of them was smiling at one point :T:T
Small shop this morning and loads going on tomorrow but minimal spends.
Menu plan on the board for the new month, which is starting from Monday in terms of planning. Doesn't look like I will have a big shop for at least 3 weeks, so am guessing that's another £120 in the OP pot.
I have an overwhelming feeling of contentment and peace this evening. Am going to sit quietly, catch up with some diaries and enjoy it.

Morning, boy is it wet. We can no longer walk on the back lawn as the water level is up to the lawn. Unbelievable.
I said last night I had a feeling of calm, today I have woken to a feeling of change. No idea what is going on but I a firm believer in listening to mind and body. Could be that a thought for a new business needs more time given to it - I think it's the fact that I want a real income for when I have retired, rather than rely on my pension. I know no more than that so will have to leave my mind mulling it over. I wonder where this will take me?
Dog walk will have to wait for an hour. Kids are off volunteering for the morning, so I am going to get up, do the ironing and then crack n with making the dinner for this evening.
Have a great day, Tilly x2004 £387k 29 years - MF March 2033:eek:

:T Exciting :T. I'm too lazy to want to work in 5 years so fortunately that's not a problem I have
. To sell or not to sell the btl's is as hard as it will get. Is there an element of your job you could continue with in some way or are you thinking of something completely different?Tilly_MFW_in_6_YRS wrote: »Dog walk will have to wait for an hour.
Hm, it does still rain in Spain. Though not much............... Off to rethink Jack Russell type dog for when I retire................. maybe a goldfish instead .A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort
