OR? What is this OR of which you speak? Don't you mean AND :rotfl:A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

Evening GG, sounds like a plan. May have to have a quick divert to Gib to purchase alcoholic consumables - may as well party the MSE way

Good morning, woke up early so thought I would have a quiet update before a dog walk. The weather seems a little calmer this morning, thank goodness.
The week is turning out busier than anticipated. We are off out tonight and Friday, then all day Sunday. That's a bit too much really but it will be good to catch up with friends. Perhaps though, in this new world of having a cleaner, I may be ok. I haven't got used to only having a quick in-between vacuum and then the normal washing and ironing to do.
Wednesday already so almost on the run down to the weekend. It seems to come round more quickly than ever.
NSD today (going to friends so taking a lovely bottle and candles from stock), small spend tomorrow and then NSD Friday and Saturday. I will have another mini shop of about the same as last week, but that's covered in. Food budget, so not counting that as spending. Hope that makes sense?

Just back in from very wet dog walk. Realised social calendar is to pot, out all day Saturday not Sunday. DH will be doing the L!dl shop Saturday morning.

Ah yes, I haven't got used to that either. Am guessing I mean something different to you though as I haven't got used to doing a vacuum whereas you can't get used to only doing that
. I think I am what my mum would have called 'a clatty !!!!!' :rotfl:.
Is 'verdant' another word for soaking
Hostas looking healthy in my garden as all the slugs have drowned . Glad you got your walk in, even if it rained. Am off to London, so much for my nice 30 minute walk, will be tubing it as close as I can then building hogging the rest of the way
I may pop in to see the new KC station. Just looked on line - shops not as nice as St P - it still has a Burger King - how vulgar :rotfl:. A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

Morning GG, I met an ex colleague for a drink in the hotel at StP a few weeks ago and it was beautiful. Really good to see it back to glory days. Say hi to Kings x for me, I used to commute into London daily, years ago. I hadn't realised it had been 'done up' though.
Everything is drowning in the garden and the forecast if non stop rain.
Have a good time building hugging, if we see mad woman in London arrested for building molestation we'll know who it was.

Hi Tilly
Have been offline for a while and the last month's finances have really suffered so I am trying to get back to better MSE ways!"!
I think I have finally decided to buy a small freezer, I just don't have enough room in my one for what I need, it literally measures 40 x 25 x 40cm.
I think I could certainly save money and time by making more than I need and then freezing only to dethaw later in the month!
Only prob is that I do have quite picky small children. Ideas so far are
- lasagne
- spag bol
- I would like to try fish pie, they will eat fish but I have never tried a fish pie, have you got a good but very simple recipe? And do you top with pastry or mash as I understand that mash doesn't freeze so well.
- chilli (for me)
- curry (for me and hubby)
- soup
Have you any other things that you would recommend for kids? I know your's are a lot older but any advice would help. I am getting the cookery books out tonight and going to give it a go. I have also ordered some foil trays to put lasagne in. I know that you partly cooked them which seemed like a great idea and then recook from frozen, do you use fresh lasagne or the dried? I usually use fresh as it softens better for me, can't imagine that is going to be too much of a problem freezing.
Anyhow, apologies for the 20 questions but I am determined to sort out my shopping this month!!

Morning, great night last night with friends and laughter is an amazing tonic.
Two more days before the weekend starts and I know they are going to whizz by. Low spend night out on its way but budget is £20 - drinks only as we are eating before meeting up. Rock night in a pub so should be good fun.
Having switched back to an offset after 7 years without one is fab. It not only saves you money but the incentive to reduce your spending further is interesting to see. DH is checking credit cards and having a clear out. We closed sme cards before the switch but I think we will be closing more. There's no point having so many cards when we don't use them. We had a debenhams card - taken out to get the 10% off first purchase, same thing in other places as well, yet the cards are never used again. Anything other than cashback, clubcard and DH oldest card, which he seems attached to, will be cancelled. If we are performing a cardinal sin by dong this, please let me know. We manly want to keep things as ample and clean as possible.
Menus have been workng well this week and lodgers think its like a hotel! In a good way. The young lad we have is a delight and I cannot believe how well it works. Not sure I would want to go back to just the 4 of us after they leave. Maybe having lodgers could be a semi permanent thing. I am a very sociable person and love entertaining, so it's been good having more people to cook for and sit down with for meals.
Right, off for a dog walk, Tilly x2004 £387k 29 years - MF March 2033:eek:
