Afternoon, have had a lovely long walk with the dogs this morning and blue sky has prevailed so far.
Finished the weekly financial review and all receipts accounted for. No MrT till spit unfortunately so had a quick trip to L:dl - had to buy another 4 items for DD cooking at school, so total spent £16.
We are making a couple of cakes this afternoon, plus some home made bread mmmmm. I love the smell of home made bread.
Halif@x reward account paperwork and online stuff arrived the other day so DH is setting that up, then the first switch in and out can be done.
DD and I are having a 'use toiletries before buying more' challenge and, although I haven't joined the thread, it's been good fun to race her. Plus it's been good to take some time out to look after myself more. She has said the same thing so could be a regular challenge.
Goodness, I have just heard the rain starting again - that may mean the bike ride is off the cards for the afternoon. Although DS doesn't think rain is an excuse not to go. I beg to differ
I have a couple of tasks still to do so am going straight into the study to finish and then will surround myself with cookery books to get the menu/shopping plans sorted.
Hope everyone is enjoying the weekend - its now pouring down here.

Aagggghhhhh - I have one task to do, which I am still putting off - what is the matter with me?
Makes me think there's a reason why I keep prevaricating - sadly I have no choice so I am doing it right now and will post when I have finished.

Well done, I will go and do the ironing n your honour.....Paid off mortgage nine years early in 2013. Now picking and choosing our work to fit in with the rest of our lives!
Still thrifty though, after all these years:D1 -
Get going SSS -I have a little left which I will do in about 30 minutes - I am not putting that off, I find it relaxing
:(. Not sure what that says about me, but I will be having a glass of wine whilst doing it.
Have a good week and hope the aches have gone following your fall

Sunday evening already - menu planned for May with a couple of re-jigs for April. Weekly shopping lists compiled. Do bear in mind I am open to changing my plan if needed, kids fancy cooking, go out etc, but it gives me a good baseline to work to.
I found before that my shopping bills would be around £120 ish (and more) a week - now nothing gets wasted, and my shopping is circa £60/80 per week. With some weeks being just top up veg/milk/fruit weeks so overall that brings the cost down throughout the year.
Not such a ridiculous week coming up, out towards the end of the week and over the weekend, so hopefully I won't feel so jaded come Friday

Evening, ironing, washing, prep cooking all complete. Monday evening I am having a relaxing bath and pedicure. Tuesday night will be a quick financial update, Wednesday night catch up with our neighbours, Thursday early supper with friends. Sunday, out all day with girlfriends.
No financial update on the cards for this week. May be one early following week though. Always good to have something to look forward to

Sounds like you've had a productive evening. I seem to waste Sunday evenings, almost as if I don't acknowledge them they won't end, but it's such a waste!Mortgage Jan 2011: £208,800 April 2012: £202,100
Savings for remortgage: £5,000/£10,000
Savings for mat leave: £1,542/£6,0001 -
Well, if you call having a cook-in whilst watching The Voice and shouting at the judges as they choose the wrong people productive, then yep, probably. However, according to DS, DD, DH "its only a TV programme".

I actually find Sunday evenings relaxing - take Friday night, I thought I had finished work and then ended up on the phone with Mexico - that never happens on a weekend. Laptop does not get turned on unless someone calls me (must be virtually life threatening) over the weekend.

Crikey Tilly, she must be spending a fortune at the moment .
Glad you've had a productive weekend, I followed your lead and menu planned until 1st week in June and have had a tidy up day today. Just decluttering the last of a bottle of wine :A.A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort
