    Hurrah! I've caught up!

Well done on the menu planning for May. You've inspired me and I'll do 2 weeks' worth tomorrow when the baby's having his afternoon nap (don't want to go too mad!)

  • Hi Brizzle, it's handy that DH often works from home as it does mean he can catch up on some jobs in between calls etc. There are definitely pros and cons to working from home, and this one of the pros.

    Enjoy your week, Tilly

  • Morning Courgette, goodness, that's really lovely of you to read the whole diary, I just hope I didn't send you to sleep. I post most days as its the only way, I found, to keep my focus.

Maybe when I have a diary for a while, 5 months doesn't seem long, I may be able to slow down a little. The thought at the back of my mind which spurs me on is 4/8/16. We both want to hit that date and we can't be falling off the wagon :)

Good luck with your food planning. Using your larder, fridge and freezer in this way really makes a difference. I don't think my brain is sufficiently awake to articulate what I mean. Take a step away from your home/work life and look at your food stores. Logically you want to get the most from them, reduce waste, make the contents work harder - by menu planning over a four week period (I have tried 6-8 weeks but the benefits don't improve) you get the most out of your stocks. You can bring variation, batch cooking, healthy food etc in to your plans far more easily and makes life SO much easier in the week, when there's so many other things to do. More importantly it saves money.

I hope this doesn't come across as patronising, I love planning, (do it every minute of the day at work), I want things to be right first time (again work) and I have a drive to optimise how things are done. So I just applied cost saving and productivity logic from work, to home :). I either sound like a complete mad woman (GG and ATT, don't press the reply button so quickly :rotfl:) or you can see the benefits.

Mad, mad, mad woman is off for a dog walk. Tilly x

    Morning Tilly

I jus wanted to say that I'm glad it works for you because your posts give me motivation and inspiration (hope I don't sound too weird!) I started my own meal planner last night and I am looking forward to the challenge. Time to get up a bit early this morning and do my shopping list to get started.

You do so much with your day that it's making me realise how much more I should be doing myself. Enjoy your walk and have a good day.

Hi AG, managed to do the dog walk without it pouring :T

Good luck with your plans and hopefully you will see the £ benefit, and time saving which is really important.

It didn't send me to sleep at all! I really love it when I find a good diary - I enjoy reading a good diary far more than I enjoy books! Not patronising at all either, all useful tips. Not one of us is perfect especially not me!

No menu planning for me this afternoon though, but I have got a lot of other necessary jobs done instead!

    Ninth Anniversary

On line HF reward account sorted and money should be winging its way tomorrow. I am still treating this as a test until I see the reward pitching up.

    Hiya Tilly,

I applied online for the HF reward account last week. Now have the accounts details etc. Do you know if the online log-ins will follow or if I have to sign up separetly for this?

    Thanks,
    Megela
