sorry girls a bit behind today , just sat with hair colour on, no replies either but we must not give up
dd asked about rory and said she had told dad to send emails to mates he used to work in dingwall
he said that he got lots of replies saying they wives knew about him posters up everywhere.

My thread on walkhighlands has had 138 views, and one lady has posted on her FB. I have emailed a few of the local hotels, maybe a few are closed for the winter? I have asked if they will check outbuildings and keep their eyes peeled.

I am now searching for other climbimg/walking forums, it cant help to pop a post on now can it xxx

tbf theyre probably busy enough with their jobs. and i dont think its very fair to be ungrateful that they arent 'falling over themselves to help' or to voice such opinions. it certainly wont endear people to the cause. and please remember every little bit of help matters. im sure they have hundreds of similar requests that they cannot feature on their shows/in their pages.

theyll need a news hook to even consider featuring it, and their loyalties are to their readers/viewers and NOT to one person. so as unfair as it may seem, its not wrong of them to not feature it. but if one was considering featuring it and they came to read the thread, posts like yours will put them off.

it might be an idea if someones properly skilled to make a lost and found poster than can be widely emailed around rather than a long message. people just dont have the time to read such things when theyre working, but an eye catching poster in the body of the email will stick in their mind. nothing too big in size or file size either.

the best bet for getting this featured in the national media is to get it featured on local media, so the best way to do that is to create a buzz. twitter would be the best bet for this. 120 characters (to allow for unbroken RTs) of succinct and emotive description and heavily targetted by multiple users towards celebrities/people with large followings. a blog set up with all details could be !!!!!!!'d and a dedicated twitter account will help this.

some email accounts scan incoming messages and if they find several emails from different accounts with the same or similar text, they will be marked as spam.

I seem to rememebr a Scotish paper that comes out once a week, called something like post on suinday? or sunday post? If so is it still in print please? Also a mag thats all things Scotish, I can trecall the name but it used to always be in our Drs waitng room? Can anyone tell me what I am thinking of please.

The Sunday Post, I think. I'm almost certain it's still in print.

I noticed a lot of the found dogs in Doglost were found after advertising in Countryman's Weekly...would this be worth a go?
