Thank you everyone. I'm not going to lie-today and tonight has been difficult. Every time I looked at the clock, I thought ''2 years ago today we were out on our walk when he saw the deer', then ''2 years ago today, we were having our tea''...well you get the idea.

When it gets to the hour he went I'm full of 'If Onlys' which doesn't do anyone any good.

I just hope that this thread has helped someone, has helped give them ideas, helped them to see that they're not alone in their despair.

You never stop hurting, you never forget-but, in our case anyway, we have found that working within the DogLost community has given it some meaning. Helping other lost souls find their owners, and rehoming dogs has become a way of life for us now, and we have the big boy to thank for that. Everyone says how strong we are-but it's not us- it's him, egging us on.

Thank you everyone who has been here for the past 2 years, and thank you Ruaridh, wherever you are, we love and miss you xx

    xx

When you say DogLost community who do you mean? Doglost web site? Which one? Please let me know I have my reason for asking that.

Lost Dogs Scotland and helping look for lost dogs in our areas. Dog Rescues etc.

DogsLost website has been wonderfully supportive also. They still phone me after all this time for words of support.

I don't like all the stickys in one thread like this. Took me ages to realise where Ruar's thread was so that I could go and light his candle.

Some years back my dog was stolen I did get him back but the way I got him back was very strange to me. I was trying to find an explanation how doglost knew the whereabouts of my dog and having checked upon what they told me was a bit shocked that it wasn't true.

Well the main thing is that you did get him back.

    That's all that really matters.
