Today is also Ruaridhs 12th birthday, as well as a year to the day he went missing. I am trying to focus on during the day this time last year, when we were walking through the woods, and he started loping after a deer with a big goofy grin on his face..like he was saying 'what a birthday!''.

When we light our candle tonight for him and his missing friends, that's what we want to remember-our happy, loving, gorgeous old man.

Happy birthday old boy, I hope that wherever you are- you're safe and happy xx

We had a proper near miss with Candy and Buddy last night.We got in at about 7pm and they had totally trashed the kitchen and were cowering , terrified cos of the nearby fireworks:(:(
I screamed when I saw the devastation, cos I thought we'd been burgled, and both dogs ran out and off.Luckily my OH caught them, and brought them back.
I really hate fireworks, and know exactly how you feel about them, and am thinking of you , and Rurs today on his birthday.Have also got a candle for tonight:A:A

I'm just saying a quiet prayer for sazzy and her family...and of course Ruaridh who we've all worried and fretted about this past year.

Dreading the onset of the darkness and the damn fireworks starting up again and leaving all the poor dogs terrified out of their wits.

Let's all send out positive vibes for Ruaridh tonight and hope the fireworks trigger a memory that will bring him home somehow.

Oh Sazzy, you've had me in tears with your message.
I do so hope too that Ruars has had a good birthday wherever he is, they won't know its his birthday and neither will he but hope he was happy.
I thought of you a lot today as it is my dogs birthday too, his 10th and I've been spoiling him like you would have spoilt Ruars.
I'm sure we are all hoping that wherever he is, a memory of his home gets stirred up and he finds his way home, although it would probably be better if it wasn't tonight - wouldn't want him outside again and scared of the bangs !!

I join you in wishing him a happy birthday and a hope that wherever he is, he's safe, happy and well.
Come on Ruars, try and make an effort to find your way home to your family who still love and miss you so much, we are all routing for you.

My candle is ready - Home sweet home - I'll also be lighting a virtual one.
Lets hope they light his way home - or at least to the home of someone who knows he is missing and where to send him back.
