sorry not stopped by in a while but still check on fb to see if we have any news,
regarding puppy take her its a sign
now this might seen like a daft story but i got my lovely jay about 20 years ago from a women, we had been getting a male but he went and jay had been thrown out on streets at 8 weeks old.
When jay died nearly 8 years ago , i had so much food etc i thought i would ring around and offer it to charity , so rang one in paper and explained i had lost jay and she we got talking and i told her were i lived , she said omg how strange i found the paperwork about your family in the loft when we had to go to court because the women wanted her back. rather than go on about rest of stuff she was saying to which i was god smacked she remembered us.
she told me about treacle this puppy nobody wanted and asked me to take her in, well jay had'nt been dead two days , i said i would think about it and left it at that she said she would arrange for me to meet her on the friday.
I told joe and the girls who freaked out at the story and said to get her because jay must have wanted it. I then changed my mind when i got jays ashes on the thursday and rang to say no
then the friday joe to me to ring and say we were going down to see her on the saturday
we then collected our lovely lucy, less than a week after jay died.
sorry i have gone on for so long but what i am trying to say is they is no right time to take on another dog and if i had'nt taken lucy don't want to think what might have happened to her
now our "bob no balls " is another story0 -
I have been following this with hope too - and when I opened it today and CG said 'fab news hun' right at the top of the page my heart skipped a flipping beat!!
But I also think you should get the puppy. It is not just for you but for your staffy too who is used to being in a pair and is now on his own, so he is probably missing him and needs a companion too. So I say go for it. A JR is tiny, they cannot take up too much room can they
I say everything for a reason personally, no-one will think you are replacing him but giving another dog a great home to live in.
We have 2 dogs and both of our Staff's would no doubt be in shelters now had they not come to us. Our first, only just 2, has Auto-Immune and is on medication for life now and the other is a pedigree and ended up having an emergency spay at 7 months old due to a rare womb infection after her first season (usually happens to older dogs). So I like to think they found us and were sent to us for a reason, because we would have loved them and given them the urgent medical attention they have needed - thankfully we are insured - but how many others get staffs and just do not bother? And then dump them when they start costing too much in time and money. So this is why I say they were sent to us for a reason. It'll be the same for you too.0 -
Well, Zelda will be joining the family on 28th January (the day after my birthday actually-Seans excuse to get her for me)
Thank you for the support- I honestly thought I would get flamed for even thinking about having another dog while Ruars is still AWOL.
You're right though blue- Bruce really adores other dogs, and when we're out walking and I'm calling for Ruars (I still do it every time we're out) he runs about with his head on one side looking for him, or runs down to the side of the river to see if he's there. So Zelda will be good for him, maybe stop him getting so spoiledRuaridh Armstrong-missing since 05/11/11. Come home old boy-we miss you x
If you can't stand behind our troops, please feel free to stand in front of them.
I will respect your opinions, even if I don't agree with them0 -
I havent posted on this thread before but have been thinking of you. I would just like to say please have the jrt it will be another dog that will be loved and cared for.0
