Have sniffer dogs been ruled out? Surely much more chance than some 'psychic'?0

Another thought. Day centres, maybe speak to the organisers whether the members mention their pets.
I wouldn't think Raurs would appeal to a young couple or family, more to an elderly person. I so wish I could be there to help you. Not that I could do anymore than you have, but I feel so frustrated.0 -
Good point. Think you may be along the right lines then0

The problem with sniffer dogs is that no-one has any idea which area to cover. The area is expansive, he could have gone north, south, east, or west, I think too large an area for sniffer dogs.Herman - MP for all!0 -

Animal Search UK also has a Search and rescue facility - don't know what that'd cost though, and what they could do that hasn't already been done.
The lack of any official notification of any accident with Ruaridh does give me some hope for him. If something happened to him surely you'd have been informed by now. If he's out there someone must have him. In rural areas it's quite possible for someone never to read a newspaper or hardly ever to go out, and so be unaware he's being searched for.
The national papers would be the best bet, but we've had little response from them. Or perhaps posters asking if anyone's recently acquired a dog? Or asking local vets, or even further afield, if a dog like Ruaridh has been brought in for any reason as a client's own dog? Maybe knocking on doors of more isolated properties?
I noticed many dogs on Doglost placed ads in Countrymans Weekly - has this been tried? Ring around all the local farms?
You just can't do anymore sazzy. You have nothing at all to reproach yourself for and I'm still praying for a positive outcome to this nightmare for you.0 -

I have updated doglost- although I had out 'yes' at reward offered. Sometimes it doesn't update though.
We've been round the local farms as well, and there's a lot between her and Inverness..and here and Elgin. As Pad says, the area is huge parts of morrland, thick forest and hills. I thought we lived in a very small place, until we started looking. Aagin- the other problem is we just don't know which way he went. I had the feeling he went up the river-which is why we thought Croy was plausible.
All I can do is keep up with the flyers, phone round places and just keep on looking.
And if someone does have him, then I hope they're spoiling him as much as he deserves, and he's curled up in front of a roasty toasty fire. Thinking of anything else just makes me want to curl up in a ball.Ruaridh Armstrong-missing since 05/11/11. Come home old boy-we miss you x

Sazzy,i have not posted before but followed this heartbreaking thread from day 1.Dogs have a special place in our hearts don't they ,and though it hurts when one dies, for this nightmare that is with you every day,my heart goes out to you because you just don't know what has happened.I cannot really suggest anything different to what you have tried already.Though i did see a programme locally on the BBC about dogs that were stolen, i cannot imagine that would be the case with yours.Have you approached the local news for a story?
Just wanted to let you know that one more poster is thinking of you every day,and praying for a happy ending. You are truly a wonderful caring person to go to the lengths you have to find him, many would have given up by now.It is so unfair.0 -
Seriously I am so gutted for you that your boy is not home.Sending you love and strength xxxxSlightly mad mummy to four kidlets aged 4 months,6,7 and 8

Just a quick drop in, so sorry there is no news. I reckon some numpty has taken him in not realising that he has a home and is being looked for. Can be the only explanation as he hasn't turned up anywhere.
I am sure he will be back with you soon, you have done so much and tried so hard. Don't give up hope, I know if I was in your shoes I would have done just as you have and not left any stone unturned. Thinking of you. x0
