I know how the call centre staff must be feeling.

Non banking, but regularly our information systems would receive an update during the night and we would be told back up and running by a particular time.

2 hours later nothing, 4 hours later nothing, etc...etc...cue numerous phone calls about do you know it's down, when is it going to be back etc..etc..

The key is too have a good detailed statement on your main page, to say about the issues, when it is expected back and then update as progress is made.

Sadly with Natwest, no statement on the main page. Simply a bland, standard, it is just down and someone is working on it, which means sod all to people. Better would be a message explaining that upgrade work has taken place and we are having problems with our servers, technicians are on site and the latest estimate we have for resumption is (good idea to make it an hour later than expected). Check back for the latest updates and put a time of the message.
  • It appears to have effected all Branches as well, at least it has mine.

The Natwest has been down all night. There was a message early this morning to say they were doing essential maintenance between 1.30am and 4.30am but I assume the "essential maintenance" is taking longer than they thought. I wonder what the problem is?
  • I know a lot of people are affected by this but it has caused me 4 or 5 bad panic attacks.

My benefits, am off sick for multiple diseases, are due in today (technically clear on Monday). I am meant to be going for blood tests at the hospital today. I need the money that has come in to get to hospital as am having an operation on Monday.

I cannot even see whether the money has gone in. It still shows yesterday's balance and I was able to get a mini statement from the Natwest branch.

It is also rather stupid, sorry any Natwest staff, that they do a sodding maintenance thing on a morning when people do their shopping or have money coming in. Maybe in future they should do it on a Sunday morning.

I also find it disturbing that different customers are experiencing different things. My friend is also with Natwest but on her iphone app it appears to be working.

Sort out it please Natwest or you will be shown the abscess I have and needs draining on Monday. (I knw that sounds disgusting but I am disgusted with them).:mad::mad::mad::mad:

I know HSBC had a problem yesterday but for crying out loud did Natwest and RBS have to copy. It is appalling and unprofessional. If I could change banks I would, I am in dire need of getting some money out.

    Gawd this is really bad!
Tried accessing online this morning to check my balance as had money due to be paid in, and was planning to go to stirling for a shopping trip but it wasn't working. Really glad i decided to check the cashline before filling up my car & setting off - no money paid in and card not letting me withdraw :(
Hope it gets sorted soon - i'd really like to enjoy my rare day off.
I got ham but i'm not a hamster.....
