Good Morning all. In America we had to wrap ours in brown paper as well!

So super on the % PG

The fact that you have enough work to cover the month is very fine indeed. x

Yep the work is good news NL, now we just need to get paid.......again !!!

I would like to pick up another longer contract though if possible for the security but the downside of that is that the regular clients think we are too busy to work for them and start using other people, who then get their feet under the table so that when we do need the work they dont give it to us as they ahve found new people to do it for them ! Im not sure what the perfect answer is really.....infact there probably isnt one other than jumping on a plane , with a one way ticket to a Desert Island and living the life of a Castaway ! :D

  • So............ after replying to you all above , today looks like this !

Clients holding up payment. £3000 which we could do with for the business and us personally. The business account is cleared out as VAT has just been paid ,so I cant borrow from that. There is £500 in there, but I need to pay most of that to ourselves as the bank loan is due today and will roughly £450 ish ! So that leaves nothing in the pot really for rail travel, fuel, businesss bills. The business mobile phone bill is due to be paid this week also. There is about £100 in the personal account and no food in the house and we have just run out of toilet roll , washing up liquid and washing powder as well ! Hmm !!

So the F&F fund is pretty dwindled, we obviously used some to get away which I feel very guilty for :o but I also needed to dip into it to cover some of the bits the girls needed for school. There is enough to cover the bank loan and tide us over so I suppose thats what I will have to do but the pot will then be pretty much empty :(. I can try and pay it back when the Client does pay but its irritated me. The Invoice was due today, they only do a payment run on a Friday , so it should have been on last weekes payment run to then show cleared in our account today. They usually send a remittance advice about 4pm on the Friday to confirm its been paid but we didnt receive one ! They are refusing to return calls and emails so I suspect they are holding up until this Friday, so we wont see it until next Tuesday ! Grrr !! I have my nephews birthday this week also and the fuel gauge in my car is on the red. It does bug me. I know thats a downside of being self employed and I know I moan about this regularly but it makes it so difficult to budget and know where you are with the bill paying. There is nothing else due in this month and I need to pay the £2000 mortgage from that also as well as all bills, food etc etc. Things will be very tight indeedy but Im sure we will sort it out. Well........ we have to really !

The Gym wont refund the cost of our membership backdated to May when I was ill despite medical information provided. What they will do is suspend membership for 2 months while I recover but we still need to pay 25% admin fees. Its better than nothing, the only trouble being that I can now begin swimming, pilates, yoga and light exercise in the gym now, but I dont have the time and I dont want to pay !! I think we need to have a proper read of the terms and conditions, maybe we were a bit hasty signing up , you live and learn though !

Right I am off to catch up with paperwork and try and salvage what is left of the overdue deadlines I failed to meet for work :o Oops !!!

Oh received a cheque from Cash for Clothes for £9, and sold a few more bits on ebay over the weekend :D

  • Yum I love Halloumi.

Waiting for my manager to get back to me as my pay packet was larger than expected and I don't know if it's a rise or a problem. Sitting in the lab to do science (my job is no where near as sciency as anyone I tell about it expects) it's far too warm in here.

I did get my lovely big pay rise, been grinning ear to ear :D

And nope none of that stuff, I kinda miss Uni for that really but then not at all because I couldn't stand that place by the end.

Does anyone know where someone would stand if they'd been off sick for long term Back and migraine problems (this is OH) and were being called into a disciplinary about it? He's had numerous sick notes from doctors saying he can do 6 hour shifts with breaks but after 2 weeks they always make him go back on normal up to 10 hour shifts and they haven't given him a proper adjusted workstation. I've been so tempted to call the health and safety executive on them numerous times. The problem is everyone is being made redundant next month, I just want him to stay there until then so he can at least get job seekers, not that he probably will with my wage. I feel so mean saying he's not allowed to quit with nothing lined up because last time he did that it took him 2 years to find another job and I can't go through that.:(

I've given him a load of ammo for when he goes back today (with another "fit" note after him having to leave during a 10 hour shift on Monday) from direct gov on Health and Safety in the workplace but I don't know how badly he fights it when he gets there.

At times I think I could be a union rep if my workplace allowed unions :rotfl::rotfl:
