I think I saw a giant bird the other day, on a sesame street re run.
Well done on your payrise!Trying to shift that debt!0 -
Well Giant Bird or No Giant Bird SBO , they wont pay out !! It appears to be the fault of the Giant Oaf of a Builder that had the job of constructing the roof in the first place ! Grrr !!
It appears that it is actually a Building Defect of which many more tiles are falling off or have already done so. The tiles and flashing / felting were not laid correctly in the first place and also upon looking inside the roof , that has been found to be faulty also. He will provide us with a full report asap but in the meantime will go back to the Insurer with his findings. Had the Roof been built correctly in the first place and the overlap of felting / flashing / tiles been correct, had the tiles slipped off then the birds would never have found their way in.
I am still angry with the Insurer as had they sent the assesor back in May this would have come to light much sooner. Instead the damage is now much worse than when we originally called them . We now have four weeks exactly left to run on the NHBC.
So with alarm bells ringing the NHBC were called today , they say they will only rectify certain things connected to roofs but will log the complaint and will send another Assesor out to look. The builders have been called as they probably have a whole room devoted to our complaints with the build of the house over the years, they are speaking with a Manager and getting back to us !! Hmmm I wait with baited breath !
In the meantime I will climb in the loft, plough through the list of problems over the years as I am sure there was a roof issue just after we moved in incase I ned any ammunition .
Other than that, work has been busy, I am nearly up to date with the Accounts, we havent been paid, they have emailed and very curtly told us we will get our money next Tuesday. Grrr ! I borrowed from the remainder of the Emergency Fund to cover the bank loan payment yesterday, but am scared to look at what else is due to be paid in the next week !
V*irgin Card paid today to new DCA, so very tiny sig update complete
Ok off now to clamber in the loft ! Its pretty full up there, wish me luck !LBM July 2011 - Finally took control Nov 2011 DFD Sometime in the distant future !
