UPS UKASH UKCASH Gumtree Scam and scams in general

  • hi, i am currently in an email battle with ukash. They are basically saying that there terms and conditions outline where to spend and how to use the vouchers. My point to ukash is that they need to change there policy on the redemption of the voucher whereby only if you have the voucher in your possession are you able to collect.

I have also spoken to trading standards who are interested in taking a look at it all. They have asked if we can supply them with details, eg, item numbers, products, email addresses shes used/using. My advice to everybody would be to contact trading standards with your own cases and info.

    Thanks

nora75palmer@gmail.com has tried to do the same to me. This time a "chesterfield style sofabed" for £230 on gumtree. I had the exact same email exchanges as you guys have and I could smell something strange between the lines from the start. The emails just didn't really make sense, and she never asked any of my questions about the item. When I then received the email from parcelforce I googled it straight away and found this discussion.

I feel sick! Also, I really feel sorry for all you who actually paid the cash..

Also wondering, who are these people in the pictures on their google profiles?

One more thing, I have obviously left my details with these scumbags - name, address, phone number, email.. Am I at risk now for anything bad? I'm not British and not really sure how many of someone's details you need to steal their identity for example..? Just worried.

The problem is once a sale transaction is involved, it crosses in to civil claim territory.
Gumtree is a site selling second hand goods by private sellers.
Anything other than paying in cash on collection of Goods is stupidity at it's finest.
You are asking to be ripped off and you will be.
The technical term is a "Selling a shaggy dog tale"

  • Report the ad to gumtree and action fraud. The more people that do this the less chance of people being had by her. It seems like more people are finding this thread first now which means she is starting to lose.

    Thanks.

    They tried to scam me!!
She´s selling a woman´s jacket for 40 pounds in London and other city!!
She sent me a sms asking me to write her email with questions and says she´s going to visit her mum...but would not mind a drop off

she should have talked to me on the phone instead of messaging me...

    this is strange!!

I almost got stung by this, then came accross this thread as it looked suspicious. Beware of user purporting to be Nora Palmer!
  • Guys, thanks so much! I was about to buy a Neumann 103 TLM, this amazing microphone, which has always been out of my budget, then I saw it on gumtree for £220 and thought this was my chance.

Anyway, was speaking to a 'Nora Palmer' this time –!everything looked really legit and I even suggested I would pick it up, but then 'she' kept saying stuff like 'just called into work' - basically all of the above emails and texts.

When I received the ParcelForce thing I became really suspicious because she'd said I'd give them cash when they brought the item. Very simple, but too good to be true.

Anyway, thank god I found this page! I don't know anything about UKASH, but nearly said goodbye to £220.

Thank you very much and WATCH OUT FOR NORA PALMER!!!
  • Nora's on the hunt again! This time, a fridge/freezer in Cheltenham for £50. Looked great etc etc, but then sent a very illegitimate looking email from 'Parcel Force' and starting asking for UKash payment. Then said 'oh take a photo of the code with your mobile phone and reply to the parcel force e-mail' I don't bloody well think so! Email address for correspondence has been: nora75palmer@gmail.com AVOID at all costs!!
  • WOW................You don't know how PLEASED I am to have just read this!!!!!...

Something told me, this doesn't feel right and I therefore wrote the email address in google, only to find you all...THANK YOU!!!!

I was on Gumtree looking for a table and they had one there, photo like it was in their home for £150...I thought best offer I have seen, as Ebay bids for same table (which retails around £799) have gone for £177-£250, so I thought bargin...Until I sent my number in the email and then to have a text with the email, I couldn't undertsand that and therefore pleased I followed my soul...

BEWARE PEOPLE.............I already had fraud on my accounts last week!!..Scum they are!
