I wonder if we can do something...She´s got a mobile number and her message was sent from an Iphone,so I thought she´s paying monthly for a phone service and if it is so, they can trace her...
You know that being a southamerican opens your eyes,as people always try to scam you in my country, the sad thing is that when they do it here,as people trust more than we do.

It seemed pretty odd that she could send a sms with her email nora75palmer@gmail.com and not call me and then when I replied she gave lame excuses that her phone might not work as the signal was low. Then she said "im going to visit my mom", then, "I was called to the countryside"...

I suggest we post gumtree ads with the same price of her products stating BEWARE with this seller, etc. Or ask Gumtree to do something, like sending emails to all its members or publishing something in the website that would make all members see the ADvice" before they get stolen.

It is a very sad way to steal money from people, and you´re not stupid, some people are just evil.

Unfortunately I've just got called into the office (i get sent countrywide with less than 24hrs notice) so very busy till next week. Back at work we have some shipments for large items with parcelforce all week long. Just thought it would save you time and hassle if I'll send it along with them free of charge :) company benefits :) .

I asked around and it seems you can pay cash upon delivery/inspection. It's quite simple since they're able to wait for you to check it out, if not as described they can just void the shipment with no extra charge.

If that's alright with you I'll need a name, address, contact number and also date&time suitable for the delivery.
Working long hours so If you want to pop in and pick it up you'll have to wait till next week or so when hopefully I'll get my head around :)
Let me know either way.
Nora.
• The add that I was scammed from a city jogger double buggy in Hertfordshire/ Bedfordshire has re appeared. I har contacted Gumtree several times and they still hasn't removed it. Please
Please do not buy this item.. Gumtree item
Number 103322190

Last week her name was Alexa Edwards to me but it seems they are changing names fast now.

I lost £100 to them. :(
• I was scammed on the 18th june, im pregnant and saved my money for a pram that I really liked which was the icandy range which was over £1000 which I cant afford. I started to look on gumtree and to my surprise I found one on there for £380 and never used, the story sounded convincing and I fell for the trap, got an email from this alexa brown saying she worked for a company that deals with parcel force as she has an account with them and thats the perks of her job so she could send it to me free of charge and it seemed so real because I was sent an email which looked like it was from parcel force and I needed to buy a voucher from ukash and as I had to purchase from a news agent I thought it was genuine and safe, what a fool I was..i think I was so excited about getting the pram I wanted I didnt think about scams and I now just suppose I trust to much. now im out of pocket with no pram please dont buy anything from this ALEXA BROWN. I wish I thought more about this but im a fool and fell into the trap.

read, and I encourage you all to do something similar, using the same price, location and picture of the product but warning the other buyers!!

I hope they can read this post!!

This scam is cleaver and convincing, I would have been caught out by it if it wasn't for this forum.

She (the scammers) use the same method of scam but under different names, my experience was with a "woman" named NORA PALMER, selling a FAMILY KAYAK . same story as before; fashion designer, called into work in 24 hrs, free parcel force, perk of the job, Ukash voucher, parcel force email etc...

DO NOT COMPLY THIS IS MOST CERTAINLY A SCAM!
"She" even has a profile on google+ (which under closer inspection doesn't quite add up)

I have been speaking to "NORA PALMER" about a fridge on Gumtree...the same story a lot of you have been saying..

She is busy and will send it through work..cant be reached on a mobile..blah blah..but there was a part of me that believed it, maybe she as busy maybe she was just trying to do me a favour..but you know what WRONG. Just a scam!!

I knew it wasn't right when i got the parcelforce email saying to pay by paypoint and then take a photo of it? Come on!

I also looked at the google+ account and it had quite a few mistakes in it...and my boyfriend thought it was wiered that the first thing she says about herself is 'honest' - oh yeah really honest whilst your trying to scam people!!

Almost fell for this scam myself trying to buy an expensive item needed for my trade.
Exactly the same emails and payment instructions, but now calls herself (himself) Nora Palmer.
I was about to buy the Pay Point certificate when something at the back of my brain started to send warning signals so I decided to go home first and get onto my PC and have another look. I was even more suspicious after that so decided to wait until Parcelforce was open at eight o'clock the next morning and rang them.
The guy on the phone, at first, tried to reassure me that Parcelforce did use this system to receive payments and I should have nothing to worry about, but I insisted that he check the number on the Parcelforce Email and when he entered it into his computer he came back with the information that it was definitely a scam. (It must have been flagged)
Good job I didn't listen to him in the first place, or I would have been over £200 out of pocket and it would have been sitting snugly in that scumbag's pocket.
With all these postings it makes me wonder just how much money this rat has taken off innocent buyers.
And especially on Gumtree.
I checked with Pay Point and apparently you don't need the receipt to cash the money you only need the number printed on it and "bingo" they hand over the cash.
The fake Parcel Force Email asks you to scan your receipt and send it to them.
Gumtree should be made to compensate these buyers if they allow the ad to stay on their website after they have been warned.
As a little add on. I am pleased to announce that I bought an identical item on Ebay for £155 and used Paypal to pay for it so I'm covered if I get scammed.
• How do we contact Gumtree. I have sent them
At least 5/6 emails and demanded that someone contacts me. Still no one has contacted me and the advert for the scam
Remains listed. I just pray no other poor suckers like me
Fall for it too.

I'm absolutely disgusted at the customer service for
Gumtree. There is no telephone number to call and no response to emails send. Appalling. I seriously think we should be refunded for our losses.
• Just contacted ukash , who advise I report the fraud to the police as my £120 has been spent and they think that police can obtain some details about the usage of such a ukash voucher

What do we think ?

This is obviously a major fraud !

This scam is presently on Gumtree
The item for sale is a Preston Innovations Zenotex fishing pole for £150
Its the same type of scam but a different email address (nora75palmer@gmail.com) but same telephone number (07747516575). No doubt the same person.
Fortunately realised it was a scam when I received the email from Parcelforce.
UKASH vouchers are not secure and are untraceable. DO NOT use them.
I have reported the scam to Gumtree on three occasions now but amazingly the advert is still listed; gumtree.com for sale preston-zenotex-pole/104313418 :mad:
