  • We wish we read this thread before!!!

    Gumtree ref 102290551

First text received from a smart phone: nora.s.ipho
It's Nora from Gumtree (double corner sofabed-suede), if you have any questions email me nora75palmer[at]gmail.com

    Then the e-mails:
    Hi ,
Don't know if it's been long since you've emailed, I've been out so couldn't follow up on my text message. Can't promise anything but visiting my mum shortly, wouldn't mind making a drop off . If you'll send me your postcode I can check out on my satnav the distance to yours.

Reasonable price and accurate description, it's worth the money, no bad surprises. I won't go any lower.

Can be reached on 07747516575 low signal strength area but check emails regularly.
    Ta,
    Nora.
    P.S. Will take cash only.

Unfortunately I've just got called into the office (i get sent countrywide with less than 24hrs notice) so very busy till next week. Back at work we have some shipments for large items with parcelforce all week long. Just thought it would save you time and hassle if I'll send it along with them free of charge company benefits .

I asked around and it seems you can pay cash upon delivery / inspection. It's quite simple since they're able to wait for you to check it out, if not as described they can just void the shipment with no extra charge.

If that's alright with you I'll need a name, address, contact number and also date&time suitable for the delivery.
Working long hours so If you want to pop in and pick it up you'll have to wait till next week or so when hopefully I'll get my head around
    Let me know either way.
    Nora.

Booked it for Wednesday am, 9-10am. Great, I've just finished filling out the forms online and Parcel Force will handle payment as well, you'll need cash. You should receive email notifications on how to proceed. Get back to me if you don't receive them and if you have any queries, glad to help.
    Nora.
P.S. If not in your inbox check your junk or spam folder also.

Hi i think i boughted this same pushchair but for 280!! im pregnant and have 7 months one and just like you really really wanted icandy. i feel sick of this people.:mad::mad::mad::mad:..why police is not doing anything

just saw ad for derbyshire be aware!!!

I was scammed on the 18th june, im pregnant and saved my money for a pram that I really liked which was the icandy range which was over £1000 which I cant afford. I started to look on gumtree and to my surprise I found one on there for £380 and never used, the story sounded convincing and I fell for the trap, got an email from this alexa brown saying she worked for a company that deals with parcel force as she has an account with them and thats the perks of her job so she could send it to me free of charge and it seemed so real because I was sent an email which looked like it was from parcel force and I needed to buy a voucher from ukash and as I had to purchase from a news agent I thought it was genuine and safe, what a fool I was..i think I was so excited about getting the pram I wanted I didnt think about scams and I now just suppose I trust to much. now im out of pocket with no pram please dont buy anything from this ALEXA BROWN. I wish I thought more about this but im a fool and fell into the trap.

What can the police do ?
These people are not even in the country. UKASH is a worldwide money transfer by pin number, once they have the pin, they have your money, anywhere in the world.

The Zenotex Pole is still listed by Gumtree despite reporting the scam to them :mad: Clearly they take fraudulant adverts very seriously
  • MY BOYFRIEND WAS RIPPED OFF £360 BY THESE SCAMMERS,

i have read through these comments and i am disgusted that gumtree and the police have done NOTHING. I'm very tempted to take this to Watchdog, then gumtree will get involved! Who is in?
  • Please everyone who has been affected by this fill out the watchdog form (its only small) the more people to fill this out the more likely something will happen and they will help find them!

Its on the bbc page 'your story'

Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker
As someone who worked on Watchdog please can people individually send in their own stories, because they all go into a database and the stories that have the most complaints get brought up as potential stories. However be aware that sometimes stories aren't run for what feel like bizarre legal issues.
  • We reported the fraud to Action Fraud. You can either complete the online report or call the helpline on 0300 123 2040.

Even some of the people taken in say "the police should do something "
What can they do, some facts:

Its not a woman at all !
They dont work and are busy
They are a gang of organised criminals working most likely thousands of miles away.
And the last fact, they can only scam fools !
