• This is a very good scam!!! Authentic email from parcel force and looked very legit!!! But please don't buy from this person if you receive the following information....
I tried to buy a vango Diablo 9 man tent from gumtree posted in north Yorkshire, still posted now even though I have reported the information to gumtree.

Don't know if it's been long since you've emailed, I've been out so couldn't follow up on my text message.!Can't promise anything but!visiting my mum shortly, wouldn't mind making a drop off! :) . If you'll send me your postcode I can check out on my satnav the distance to yours.
!
Reasonable price and accurate description, it's worth the money, no bad surprises. I won't go any lower.
!
Can be reached on 07747516575!low signal strength area :( but check emails regularly.
Ta,
Alexa.
P.S. Will take cash only.

Unfortunately I got called into the office so very busy till next week. Back at work we have some shipments for large items with parcelforce all week long. Just thought it would save you time and hassle if I'll send it along with them free of charge :) company benefits :) .

I asked around and it seems you can pay cash upon delivery/inspection. It's quite simple since they're able to wait for you to check it out, if not as described they can just void the shipment.

If that's alright with you I'll need a name, address, contact number and time frame when someone's home, can book a specific time slot if it helps.
Working long hours so If you want to pop in and pick it up you'll just have to wait till next week when hopefully I'll get my head around :) .
Let me know either way.

I lost out on £100, and have reported this to UKASH, parcel force, gumtree and the police. All agencies said this is a big scam and never pay via UKASH when using gumtree!!! A bit to late for me so have wrote this post to warn others!!! Stay safe and only buy face to face!!!!

Hi, I replied to a gumtree ad for a tent and got this email

This scam is presently on Gumtree
The item for sale is a Preston Innovations Zenotex fishing pole for £150
Its the same type of scam but a different email address (nora75palmer@gmail.com) but same telephone number (07747516575). No doubt the same person.
Fortunately realised it was a scam when I received the email from Parcelforce.
UKASH vouchers are not secure and are untraceable. DO NOT use them.
I have reported the scam to Gumtree on three occasions now but amazingly the advert is still listed; gumtree.com for sale preston-zenotex-pole/104313418 :mad:

They are back again this time as Angela "angela75murray@gmail.com"

here's the email I got back when I replied to the ad.

As above guys, The Honda eu10i silent generator has been listed for the last 2 days, i messaged yesterday and no replie until today i get a text message to tell me to email ANGELA75MURRAY@gmail.com with any questions i may have, i have replied but as of yet no replie back, After I replied to ANGELA75MURRAY@gmail.com i instantly thought something was fishy, thats when i googled the email address and i came up with this thread, this person needs stopping, Gumtree seriously need to deal with this threat as it`s just not on. I have reported it to gumtree but i suppose the scammers will have plenty more ads on gumtree with plenty of different email addresses to keep themselves in business.

• Yep, I nearly got hooked too, and at my age I SHOULD KNOW BETTER ETC! (Rant over.....) I saw my dream guitar advertised by Nora75Palmer - very nice girl who I intend to meet in a very dark alley one day.

As for the guitar? My missus used her usual sympathetic muse - DREAM ON SUNSHINE !!!!!!

All the best

I too have been ripped off by 'Nora Palmer' I feel so foolish, yet the whole scam was so convincing. I had seen a mulberry bayswater bag listed for £200. The seller seemed so honest - I've come across A LOT of fake mulberrys on eBay etc and you tell them a mile off. Theres an original receipt and protective dust bag included in the picture and she goes on to say "externally one corner has a light scuff....internally there are a couple of pen marks, apart from that it is immaculate". I know for a fact these bags retail at £700 in John Lewis etc but can be found if you're extremely lucking in mulberry outlet stores for around £450. At £200 with scuffs and pen marks I thought this to be a reasonable price. I responded to the gumtree ad and received an email from 'Nora Palmer' with the EXACT SAME schpiel WORD FOR WORD as everyone else on here has reported. Got a bit suspicious when she hadn't replied to me but worried parcelforce transaction had expired i foolishly handed over £200 to my local co-op, sent off a picture of the receipt and that was it £200 down the drain. I just wish I'd seen this thread first. And to the pregnant lady who got ripped off by the buggy ad - I'm also pregnant, 2 weeks from giving birth and I am DISGUSTED beyond belief that they could use this to their advantage. Being so close to my due date I thought it was amazing to be sent it by courier and fell hook, line and sinker. But to list an actual BUGGY targeting people with tiny babies on the way makes me sick to my stomach!!! I've contacted the police and they can't do much, witten to Watchdog and will contact Actionfraud. I can't believe this vulgar parasite is getting away with this!!
• I have come across one of these scam postings on Gumtree in the last few days, by Angela Murray, getting the usual messages from her. The reason I initially became suspicious was because I looked for a similar item on Ebay to see if the one on Gumtree was a good deal. What I found was the identical advert with identical photos on Ebay, the item said it had been Sold 2 days before the Gumtree ad appeared. So I contacted the Ebay seller who assured me it was sold, paid for & collected, I gave him the link to the Gumtree ad and he reported it to them, and it was removed for several hours, but then re-appeared, good old Gumtree!

So I checked a couple of other similar "bargains" on Gumtree, to find exactly the same thing had happened, they are Sold on Ebay and a couple of days later the wording & photos were taken from Ebay and used on Gumtree, with a different location, and usually at exactly half the price they went for on Ebay. I believe the Ebay sales are genuine, the seller was surprised that the scammers could copy the photos (of his house with the items in it!) so easily.

So if you do see a bargain on Gumtree it may be worth checking for the same item in the "Completed Listings" on Ebay, I certainly will in future :)
