  • Good Morning!

We've had a heavy frost followed by a light sprinkling of snow this morning - looks lethal out there!

Yesterday, I got a few more places 'stardropped' and posted a couple of items. Parents arrived with the new Argos catalogue :T
My nurse called back and is going to speak to one of the consultants today and ring me this afternoon. She seems to think that not much can be done until they look at the scan results on Tuesday, and I'm due at clinic on Wednesday....hey ho

Today I've got to post a couple of Amazon items (which have sold whilst I was reading this thread!), get a top-up shop and dust and vacuum downstairs.

    Have a fab day everyone!

I've never contributed to this thread so thought I would make a start today!

In early to work and just making my way through emails. Also phoned the Council for some advice - someone appears to be dumping used nappies in our garden or in the lane beside us every now and then and I don't know what to do about it! Hubbie purchased a small camera last night off of ebay that he is going to hook up to the computer and try and catch whoever is doing it :-)

Apart from that it will no doubt be a busy day at work. Will pop to the butchers after work to get some meat (or see if there is anything yellow stickered in ASDA) and I'm gonna attempt to use my brand new slow cooker overnight. SO excited!

No snow here but pretty cold. Brrrrrrrrrrr

    Have a nice one.

    Weegie.

Martin's on GMTV at the minute talking about cashback credit cards.

Well, morning everybody - I can't believe how many posts there are already. No snow today but fingers crossed for SOMETHING TO DO on jury service!

Kaz - TK Maxx in Cardiff is on the second floor of a building with JJB Sports on the first floor. It's on a corner, partway down the main shopping street in Cardiff (about opposite the entrance to the undercover shopping centre). Sorry can't remember street names - I've only been to Cardiff once :o You're right though - better not to spend anything at all :D

Westy - glad your grandmother is OK

scuzz - glad your mum is OK!

    Must be off now

Can I just ask why some apparently intelligent women can be so stupid? For months now I have seen this woman pass by on a bike with her two kids on bikes behind her, she is obviously highly intelligent, I have heard her speaking to her children.

But neither of her kids ever wear helmets!!

She's probably related to a couple who live near me. LOADSA dosh, but they let their kids "express" themselves IYKWIM and also never wear seatbelts in the car. Even worse, they drive the 1/2 mile to school to pick up the 2 youngest and drive them home, all 3 in a Smart. poor little girl sits on the handbrake, practically!!

    Anyway, GOOOOO MOOOORNING OSers

Lovely sunny blue skies here, but flippin' cold. Not had any snow (well, we had 10 mins the other night but as a good MSE-er, I had my curtains drawn to keep the heat in, so missed it.

Shortly, I shall be getting dressed and setting out to do 2 mystery shopping jobs (One pays £65!!!! :j ) Then home for a phone MS job and then off to see my lovely hairdresser - and I'm having all my hair cut off. Yep - have decided now it's half way down my back, it doesn't suit me any more so going for one of those trendy bobs that are in (Think Krystina from Dancing on ice)

LOL From the other room i can hear "Never ever ever ever ..." I think our Martin's preaching about CC's again, on LK today :rotfl:

Right, (((hugs))) all round, :hello: to any newbies and have a good day everyone.

ps Nels, no wonder I never get through on your mobile. I was dialling numbers, not full stops :rotfl:

    Morning All,

Crikey look at all these page 3 girls we have already, and it's not even 9am yet  :rotfl: (well it wasn't when I started writing this :o )

Welcome BellsBells and weegie, Hugs to Westy (I'll also reccomend those pendants as my grandad wore one and it turned out to be, quite literally, a lifesaver), Happy Birthday tinkerbell, and good luck to shirley with your interview, pooky, your snow looks so pretty! tiredmum, Matlock Bath is soooo pretty, but can be very touristy in the summer months. I'm from that area originally and my dad works there still, so any info you want, feel free to PM.

Well I have a mammoth To Do list today, will post it on here as then most of it will get done as you'll put me to shame :rotfl:
    • Draw Up Cleaning Schedule for new Uni term
    • Ironing (huge pile, and it won't go away no matter how well I hide it)
    • Update 2007 Gift Challenge Acct
    • Update Food Acct for January
    • Hoover whole flat
    • Sort Paperwork (ma-hoo-sive pile)
    • Print & File Menus (loads stored on my PC and Bookmarks and want rid!!)
    • Sort Washing (that was in machine overnight)
    • Clean Windows & Sills
    • Clean Fridge & Freezer
    • Clean Bin (spilt something down it without realising :( )
    • Wash & Put Away Pots (not many, luckily)
    • Clean WM Drawer as its a bit gunky

Will probably also find bits and pieces that need doing as I go along

No snow here, just frost :( Blummin Cold though. Seems to be snowing everywhere in UK apart from here. Not even the slightest sign of any falling from the sky, nevermind sticking :( My sister who lives in Derbyshire, not 20miles from where I live, has been sledging :( *stamps feet in childish manner* I want snow

My SC Virgin ;) Beef Stew was lurverly, and I made a Veggie Stock from the peelings in it overnight so hope it's ok!!

OH back from France tonight (midnightish) hence the mad cleaning!! Flat was pristine when my friend arrived on Tues afternoon, but we pretty much trashed it :rotfl: Watched The Holiday with Cameron Diaz, and both were in tears coz we're soppy lil wimps! :D

Anyway, Have a good day everyone, :grouphug: to all who require

  • Morning everyone, Happy Birthday Tinkerbell:bdaycake:

Slept in this morning so running late:mad: Walked kids to bus stop and am still thawing out, it's -5 here:eek:
WM, DW and SC on, no breadmaking today as tesco had lots of nice organic stuff reduced yesterday;) Plans for the rest of the day are; make some yoghurt, off to bottle bank, and lots of paperwork. Ironing fell by the wayside last night due to lots of phonecalls and watching Desperate housewives:o
so need to tackle that at some stage. This old house is freezing so I think I'll abandon my [STRIKE]fridge[/STRIKE] office and do the paperwork in front of the fire.

Oh, and I'm waiting for my FIRST Pigsback voucher: £10 John Lewis / Waitrose.

I joined pigsback in July and by last week had £70 in John Lewis Vouchers:j
However when I went to Glasgow last week I found I couldn't spend them cos everything was so expensive that I couldn't justify spending so much money on stuff I could get cheaper elsewhere even if it was free money:o
Think I'll have to save them for Christmas.

Hope everyone has a lovely day. Stay warm.

Bright morning, boy has there been a frost, the little bit of snow is now frozen solid, so guess the wet pavements will be like glass, glad we do not have to go out today.

Slept much better last night (thank you Queenie) the wriggle monster went to sleep and did not wriggle.........

Plans for today, check over the awning we sold yesterday and make sure everything is there continue with the back bedroom, oh will it never end?????!!!!! and peel and cook some appples for the supper party saturday.......haggis for supper tonight, we always have it Burns night and St Andrews Night, the OH never forgets he is a Scot!!!!!so I guess we may be having bacon haggis and tomato for brekkie on Saturday, we can never eat all the haggis in one go.........

:coffee: calls so I am off to imbibe and get started.......

    Have a good day folks...................

Forgot to say, as I was going out yesterday the chap from the water board arrived (what happened to the phone call???) we still have a leak!!!!!!!!! even though they were supposed to have repaired it, I am seriously p**** off, if they do not pull their finger out I will be getting in touch with offwat.... in the first instance the whole 12m of pipe should have been replaced, insteasd a 1.5m piece was put in........ this was why I wrote to them, these houses are almost 30 years old and if one bit of the pipe leaks it stands to reason that the rest is going to..............gggggggggggggggggrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr we now await another visit from the water man.... we also were told that the stop tap in the kitchen needs to be replaced, thank god its the landlords responsibility not ours!!!!!! phoned the agents yesterday, but have heard nothing...... hope we do not have a problem in the house!!!!!
