Morning folks
No work today but plenty to do however feel like my get up and go has got up and gone
Had a busy few days at work and what with feeling a bit under par due to ear infection I think that's why I feel a bit pooped.
Leaving at 9:30 this morning to go for the weekly food shop. Taking my mum so no doubt it will be about 3 o'clock this afternoon before I am home
Have some cheques to pay into the bank as well. One of them is in my maiden name (an old insurance policy my mum had for me) so I hope the bank accept it. If not I am sure a letter and copy of marriage certificate to the insurance company will suffice.
Think I will get some haggis for dinner tonight and have a "Burns Supper". Will pass on the whisky tho' - it's not my tipple
Bye for now
P.S. Happy Birthday Tinkerbelluk :beer:0 -
Morning all
Apparently we did have snow yesterday morning but none of it settled. What I thought was rain was actually melted snow. DH told me it snowed from 12am to 6am. I moaned at him for not phoning me up to tell me it was snowing
DH is at home today, so I am retreating upstairs to do our room as we only get under each others feet. I may get him to take a tootle up to DD1 and take the last of the christmas presents that she still has stuck here. He can do something useful for a change.Organised people are just too lazy to look for things

Morning all.
No work for me today, started my new hours two weeks ago, and now get Thurs and Fri off. My stupid daughter left her handbag on the stairs last night. Me, (No glasses on, half asleep) came down in the middle of the night and slipped on it. Fell down five stairs, bashed my bum and jarred my shoulder. Still hurts to sit down.
Scaffolders are supposed to be coming today. I'm having the chimmney re-clad (Thanks to a council grant) Buiders are due Monday to do it, hope they come!
So I'm staying in, in the warm, and making lamb stew for dinner!
Have a good day everyone.:TI Believe in saving money!!!:T

I get what you mean, but my butcher, who makes his own sausages (we have one named after the town that he invented for our 900th anniversary!) says that due to the high meat content, his are low fat, and consequently high protein.

Morning everyone
Thanks for the kind messages yesterday, they meant a lot
FFFFrrreeeezing here, I am a bit of a strange person who has to sleep with the window slightly open, even in this weather and I must admit the house is rather cold but half the fun is snuggling up and keeping warm.
We are still under with some sort of virus so ds is off school again today as he can't stop being sick even though all he has eaten is ice lollies. I am so impressed with modern technology as knowing we wouldn't be that well, I arranged for Mr Tesco to bring round my weekly shop at 7pm last night for 9 am this morning, it still amazes me that I can do that and our cupboards and fridge are so empty it will be much welcomed.
DD has her birthday on saturday so we need to make a cake for that, her party isn't until a few weeks later but we still haven't worked out what we are actually going to do on the day, It's so cold so we are limited. DD, ds and I all have birthdays in the middle of winter so it will be wierd when we go to Oz and we will all have summer birthdays!
My house needs a good going over, it has really been put on the back burner lately so I hope I can make a start on that today.
Have a good day everyone and I hope you manage to stay cosy and warm0 -

anyway will pop to asda after work for supplies mine is a morphy richards and recipe for white bread says dried milk, kyles is a panasonic and she doesnt use milk, do i need dried milk or not? off for the papers back later x
Either or orther really - the milk gives a softer crust. Sometimes I do, sometimes I don't, depending on the recipe.
Best advice, follow the recipes which came with your machine to begin with, that way you get a *feel* for your machine and the finished result; after that, you can play around omitting and adding ingredients as you wish - that way you have something to compare it to
scuzz - pleased to know your mum's op went well, despite the delay. Wishing her a speedy recovery.
hillstep - ouchie!!!! (((get well hugs)))

morning all....
The snow has finally arrived! However it doesn't look like its going to stay.
Plans today:
Clear kitchen, do a grocery inventory, go to the docs [ still not feeling 100%] and continue sorting out my family history.
Have tried making yogurt in my Easiyo last night without the sachet. Opened this morning [ after approx 8 hrs] and although okay , it seems a little runny so have renewed the hot water and will leave it for abput 3-4 hrs and see what its like. I'm hoping this will be a much cheaper way of having a constant supply of yogurt.
Might make a bread pudding with some dried out HM bread...better look for a recipe! We don't need to do it perfectly - good enough is exactly that GOOD ENOUGH.0 -
Can I just ask why some apparently intelligent women can be so stupid? For months now I have seen this woman pass by on a bike with her two kids on bikes behind her, she is obviously highly intelligent, I have heard her speaking to her children.
But neither of her kids ever wear helmets!!Organised people are just too lazy to look for things

Morning All
Started reading and then realised that I'm running out of time so will post first and read later
DD is alittle better today, only made it into work yesterday afternoon for 2 hours then MIL asked me to come home as she was worried about her. Got a Drs appt for 9.45 today as I now think that its possible gone bacterial on her chest if so it will be appropriate for her to have antibiotics. As shes been such a little angel I'll get her a treat while we are out, maybe something to do with Peppa Pig if theres anything cheap enough in Argos.
While we are out I'm out I need to get some shopping in Aldi, hopefully wont need much but I'll make a list in a minute.
Have a good day everyoneSorting my life out one day at a time0 -
