  • Good morning everyone! Well I often read this thread but haven't posted on it before. Normally I have no time in the morning and by the evening it is too long to really do anything but read!:rotfl:
However this morning DS has been awake since 4:30 with a cough so I am up as well! I have loaded the dishwasher, sorted the drying and I am about to liquidise the soup I put in the slow cooker last night before bed. The kitchen smells lovely now and that is my lunch sorted for the next few days! There is a light dusting of snow here today but not enough to stop me going to work. Oh well.
Hope you all have a good day and stay warm. :j

;) amie399. its true though. I felt like twiggy when I was there!
there are some very extremes of sizes there. saw some very skinny folks but equally some very well built ones. must be so hard there though. the portion size is enough to feed a family of four and they dont walk anywhere. everything was drive through..shops,ATM and off course every kind of fast food you can think of.

well today its my day off. must do some shopping. this weekend the supermarkets will be heaving with it being the first pay day since christmas.
other than that will do some studying. mr dogrose is night shift so I cant make too much noise around here.

  • Morning all, can’t believe how many have posted and it’s not yet 7!!

Snow has all gone here but my kitchen’s freezing – the radiator seems to have filled with air again so sorting that will be high on my list of priorities today.

Kyle and AMIE399 – well done with your diets, I wish I was doing as well on mine. My daughter and her friend made fairy cakes last night. I’m not sure what they did but I think something went awry with the measuring because they came out very flat. Girls didn’t mind though, they’ve just put an inch and a half of icing and sprinkles on them to bring them up to the size of proper cakes. They made me sample one last night and it was teeth achingly sweet - I dread to think how many points I ate:eek: .

Westywoodpecker I’ve got an elderly relation who lives alone – she subscribes to a local ‘emergency assistance line’ and gets a monitor which she wears all the time and in an emergency presses the button which summons help immediately. It’s good piece of mind for the rest of us and the call centre is 24/7. I think a lot of local authorities offer some kind of similar service for the elderly.

Queenie – no idea where to find your “oomph” – in our house when things are lost we normally looking under DS’s bed. It’s amazing what’s under there…

I’ve got to go and pick up a Freecycle item – a laserjet cartridge – which will be really useful and save me about £50. I’ve got rid of several items this week too which has helped with clutter clearing although I’m getting a bit disillusioned with Freecycle. There are so many no shows and some people are so rude. I suppose the items that I’m offering at the moment (mainly children’s toys) are low value compared to the wanted ads. Here in Berkshire Freecyclers ask for laptop PCs, motorbike trailers and motor boats (I kid you not!). I did smile this morning when someone asked for a shopping trolley – I wonder if they’re an MSEer??

    Enjoy your day everyone!

  • Good morning all :) Hope everyone is doing ok.

I have my interview for promotion at work this morning - argh !!!! Atleast it'll all be over by lunchtime, just hope they don't make us wait for days to make a decision.

    Plans for today:
Declutter some more of the filing cabinet
    Tidy and clean the lounge
    Clean the mirrors
    Clean downstairs bathroom
    Backup computer files
and maybe clean the kitchen floor

    Have a good day everyone
