The petition is about having to opt-in, I'm not aware that it's about banning it.
That's not what I said, I said you wanted to ban it. I believe you argued that on another thread?
Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.
  • I see what you're saying but that's often the way with things in life. the majority have restrictions due to the minority who abuse any privilege

Time to ban cars then because a minority of drivers are a bloody liability on the roads and people might get hurt. Worse! A car with a child in it might be involved in a crash. :p

Daftest petition request I've seen in ages. Take responsibility for your kids and let the rest of us get on with our own lives.

In an ideal world I agree there should be no !!!!!!, sadly people being what they are I realise this is highly unlikely to happen.

divorced parents - the kids play them and grandparents off against each other for cash/phones etc Come Christmas, birthday they all have the latest iphone, laptop, game consoles etc

Getting divorced does not absolve parents of their responsibilities. In the instance you are suggesting the kids are not funding the gadgets themselves, they are being funded/given by their parents etc who have the responsibility to ensure that adequate controls are put in place.

The driving restrictions are a good example actually as we all have to (or should) speed limits even if we thin we could safely go faster.

:wall: you don't get it, do you?

In YOUR ideal world, not the majority of the rest of us.

And we have laws against the very types of !!!!!! that are being complained about mostly on this thread!

Well we could argue ad infinitum about your ideal world as against what you see as 'mine' although I would subscribe to the view that it's not my ideal. The majority is an interesting concept and I would disagree with your understanding of it.

Ah, so it is divorced parents that are the problem?

So, instead of banning !!!!!!, why don't we outlaw divorce? Or instead, just outlaw marriage in the first place!

Being divorced is no excuse - they still have parental responsibilities and if they are failing to meet those responsibilities then they're the problem, not !!!!!!, not phones...
