    Liberal athiest thanks very much.

Nope, not going to be able to reason with you, sweeping generalisation man... you refuse to acknowledge the merit in any opinion but your own and don't care if others are upset or made to feel vulnerable by your actions.

hold on who said i was an atheist im not i do believe in god but it does not rule my life

lol I rest my case who'se the bigot then?? they can't even debate without cursing the other side!!!

Cursing? It's an observation, your stance is idiotic and bigoted. If you're calling me a bigot for that, you need to double check your definition of the word.

    Because it objectifies women.

Is looking at breasts so important to you that you would do it in the workplace even if it upsets co-workers?

Where do you work that this is an issue? It wouldn't be allowed in my workplace and I'd imagine the majority of working environments.

What is the answer to that?

I watch !!!!!!, as I'd imagine the majority of the country does. I don't think it affects my opinion of women or sex and I have an extremely healthy relationship. I agree it probably does warp the opinion of some (you only have to watch recent news for examples of this) but you can't ban something for everyone because a minority are mentally unstable enough to cope with it.

My girlfriend is aware I watch !!!!!! and is fine with it. She even watches it with me sometimes. I wouldn't hide this from a girlfriend, to be honest if I was with a girl who had a problem with it our relationship wouldn't last very long.

I won't even start on my views on Government censorship but needless to say I won't be signing this.

It does not matter how much people want to ban it, they are fighting a never ending battle unless the entire world agrees to do it.If you ban all such sites in the UK, they'll move to another country and continue until they've been to every one - and then you have places like Sealand that are not part of any country. And nothing to stop a site setting up a family-friendly front end, but with selective membership serving all kind of filth once you login.

Certain types are already illegal - such as kiddy, animal or extreme violent, and most people will agree that is a good thing. Anyone caught with this material faces criminal charges and possibly prison. Even if it is just used as an extra stick to beat people with it can only be a good thing to prosecute - although they have already tried for a cartoon tiger in a pornographic pose...

As with most things in life, some people love it, some like it, some tolerate and some hate it. Usually the love/hate sections are fairly similar in size, but both are minority views - even if 5% of men and 50% of women wanted to ban it that still only comes to ~28% of the population. Chances are the ratio is much less than that.

Like other people have said. If you want to protect your kids, then download one of the free products that can do it - We-Blocker or K9 (or others). Take some responsibility for what you look at and what your kids can see.

Mine doesn't feel the need to hide it up, and I'm not bothered. To be honest neither of us is mentally sensitive enough to be phased by it- he's not going to see a vid of a man with his hand around a woman's throat and do it to me.

The people that are going to be influenced are the people who could be influenced by anything...read a book with a graphic scene..remember those awful scenes on Eastenders with Trevor and Little Mo? They could influence. Read one of those mags with people selling their stories? Plenty of detailed abuse stories in there. Unless you want to utterly sanitise society and ban EVERYTHING, these people will be influenced. !!!!!! is the hot topic at the moment, therefore every crime where a shred of it is found will be publicised to the max. Remember when it was computer games?

interesting what would you say the wider issues are?

Far too many to discuss here but let us focus on the highlights...

Ignorance to the fact that people who act upon something they have seen in a film, book or heard in a song are mentally !!!!!! to begin with.

The fact we have a broken social welfare system that fails to identify potential problems, or vulnerable people.

The fact that our broken social welfare system often fails to intervene when it has identified a potential problem (Baby P, anyone?).

The fact that we have a weak judicial system with a public perception that it is more like a "holiday camp" than prison, where inmates are allowed Playstations and satellite TV, and where prisoners can even complain because they only get two of the Sky Sports channels and therefore does not act as a deterrent when the majority of offenders are those from lower socio-economic profiles who would struggle to afford such luxuries in the first place.

The possibly unhealthy cultural attitude to violence and anti-social behaviour in the UK, whereby getting blind drunk and forcing oneself on women, or a random act of violence is considered in some way normal behaviour amongst a sub-section of society. Our inability to tackle such a problem.

The fact that murder, rape, torture etc. existed long, long before the Internet, long before moving images, long before photography.

The fact that censorship simply does not work, as should be clear to all from the failure to significantly reduce crime levels since the "Video Nasty" farce.

The fact that we have a reactionary culture that looks for quick, easy answers and are easily manipulated by the media into believing all sorts of rubbish (you can catch AIDS from a toilet seat, dont ya know?)

    And quite a few more...

As for violent pornography, it is already banned under Section 63 of the Criminal Justice and Immigration Act 2008.

And by the way, pornography does not degrade or demean women. Page 3 does not objectify women. The actions of a single woman do not speak for the 3.5 billion or so on the planet.

I see the petition has had a total of 20 signatures now, 2 more than when it was posted on here. So I don't think it's working much.
Interestingly, when I googled the good Dr who started it, the only info I could come up with is another petition to the government.
It does seem a little strange that a Dr has no mention of them on google at all.

the government is considering making the viewing of hardcore strangulation/binding/whipping of women or men type of !!!!!! on a par with child !!!!!!. The Church of England who pay money to support servers are putting pressure on them to do so. So we will have to wait and see what happens.

So consensual acts by adults are on a par with child rape and abuse?

    You disgust me.

I have appeared in BDSM photshoots and films and have never ever done anything I did not consent to and neither did any of the others involved. I am an adult not a child.
