    Good afternoon all,

Could someone help please? I don't have use of my scales at the moment so how would I convert these quantities into cups?

    How many cups is 100g?

I am so confused when it comes to converting cups to grammes.

    Thanks in advance

  • Ive just taken off old toilet seat to replace with new one but the rust from the hinges has encrusted round the holes. At the moment Ive got them covered in kitchen paper soaked with vinegar. Anyone know of a better way? Thanks, Alison

No idea, but if it were me I might smear the new hinges and bolts in Vaseline to try and repel rust (and other things!)

No idea if that would work, and you'd need to resmear periodically, so it might work best on the bolts rather than the hinges.

Someone will tell me if I'm talking out of my rear end ... :rotfl:

I have successfully used toothpaste and an old toothbrush to remove rust stains left by a dripping tap....HTH

  • I have tons of little (fruit?) flies in the kitchen, probably becuase I have a compost bin only about 15ft from the back door (doh), I have sprayed fly spray in the compost bin (compost probably ruined now??) but don't really want it in the house as have 3 toddlers and a dog, what else can I use other than lots of patience and a rolled up newspaper?! Thank you

    The hoover!

    Honest :)

Set up your hoover with the long pipe extension on it but don't put a gizmo on the end - just have the bare pipe.

    Start it.

    Wait until a fly settles.

You can usually get the end of the hose to within a couple of feet of it without disturbing it.

Then point your hose straight at it and slowly move the hose closer to it.

The thing is - flies can sense air currents from things moving towards them, but since you are sucking air into your hoover pipe... air is moving away from them.

By the time they realise - it's too late. Even if they lift off and try to fly away they just get sucked in.

It takes a little practice and it works a treat. And no messy blobs anywhere :)

Note: I've never had a fly come back out of the hoover.
