Chips without an oven - kids screaming for chips. I don't own a chip pan and no oven until Monday when the new one arrives, any other ways I can make them ?
Also those aunty bessies yorkshires, I'm craving a Sunday dinner, I got a brisket which can go in the slow cooker, if I bought those aunt bessies style cooked puddings, defrost them and grill them (can use grill as it's the oven door that is broken) do you think that would work ?One day I might be more organised...........

You can grill frozen oven chips. Or I'm wondering if you boil chip shapes till almost soft, then put them under the grill---would that work?
I fancied baked potato the other day, but wanted a change. So I left the skin on, cut the spuds into small 'wedges' & brushed them with olive oil mixed with a few dried herbs. They were rather scrummy after an hour in the top of the oven, if it's of any help? An aunt used to do her 'roast' potatoes under the grill :silenced:Full time Carer for Mum; harassed mother of three;loving & loved by two 4-legged babies.

Thanks. Will try the grill, didn't think would be able to do that, I pressume using an oven tray to cook them on will work, my grill pan has holes in which the chips would fall through, I think that's where the mind block came in on grilling them. I have some oven chips somewhere. One day I might be more organised...........

I have today tried doing a cake in a breadmaker for the first time. The instruction book tells me what to do if the cake is ready before the timer goes off, but the cycle has finished and the cake is not properly cooked!!
Dpes anyone know how I can get the breadmaker to carry on cooking for a few more mins??!!
