If you found some ripe blackberries to pick I'm sure you could make a summer pudding, don't have a recipe myself but I'm sure a Google would fine one. IIRC it's fruit and sugar pressed into a basin lined with white bread. Mmmmm.Signature removed for peace of mind0

I am weaning DD and she loves a bit of mushed banana but does not eat a whole one, can I freeze it?0
-
You can freeze mashed banana by putting it in a bag with a little lemon juice but I think this is only if you are going to be using the banana in baking because I don't think you could just eat the banana defrosted as it is, although I may be wrong.
You could also keep half the banana whole and put a lollipop stick in the bottom then wrap it in foil and freeze this, this can be eaten as an ice lolly.0 -
Some of the bananas I've bought lately have been huge so I've just used a sharp knife to cut off the bit I want from the unpeeled banana. The very end goes a bit black but you can just cut it off when you want the rest. Seems good for several days I think...0

Hi all - Having read and been inspired by old style for a while now I have ordered with my tesco shop a bag of red lentils and I see them mentioned here so often. Problem is have NO IDEA what to do with them - think you may have to soak them or something? But then what?? Can anybody suggest a first basic recipe idea for something I can do with them to get me off the mark so to speak...........sorry if I have posted this in the wrong place?! Thanks in advance for any ideas!!If Life Deals You a Lemon - Make Lemonade!! :j0

Hi there is a red lentil thread somewhere... but you don't need to soak them, you can just cook them in water if you want.
My favourite is to add a large handful of them when making a vegetable curry - just add a bit extra liquid (water or whatever) as they soak some of it up. Make sure you cook for half an hour or so and check they are soft.
I also add them into bolognaise and shep pie to stretch the mince furtherworking on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -
Anyway, the reason I arrived here.... my quick question is this:-
What can I do with left over chicken risotto? Should I eat it cold the next day or is it "safe" to reheat in microwave - if so, how long for?
I love risotto and OH has decided to cut down on carbs so am tempted to make usual amount tonight (give him something else) and use leftovers for me!!
If there are any other ideas what to do with left over risotto I'd love ideas - oops sorry think that was more than one questionworking on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -
I asked the same thing a while back and was told that reheating in the microwave was fine but sorry cant tell you how long for!
Ive seen a recipe for rice balls before, maybe search on the net? I think you just roll into a ball, coat in flour, egg and breadcrubs and then fry. Sounds lovely to me!!0
