quick question re chicken balls (you know the ones you get from the chinese takeaway).
There is a recipe on OS here for the batter for these which is great. Could I just check, does anyone know if the chicken pieces should be raw when dipped in the batter and then deep fried or can the chicken be cooked first.
Or can you do it both ways....:-)
Any advice gratefully received....0 -

If I make meatballs, how long can I leave them in their uncooked state before frying them? I ask because the mixture uses beaten egg, and I've always found that egg goes a bit funny if you leave it for any length of time outside of its shell!
Basically, I'm asking how long in advance I can make these before cooking them for tea? A few hours, or can I do them the night before? Thanks!0 -
You could always part cook them before putting in the fridge. Covering in clingfilm would probably mean they would keep ok. A fridge dries things out so leaving overnight will probably make the egg go funny as it will dry the meatballs out.0

Hello folks,
I've got an excess of white currants (not red or black - I think I did something weird when pruning the bushes last year!)
Hubby has asked for "some sort of pudding" to use some of them up. Has anyone got any suggestions?
Many thanks
