Does anyone know how much olive oil to use rather than butter when making pizza dough in the 253? I'm guessing that you just weigh out 1oz of oil instead of the butter, but I daren't risk it as it's for tea tonight...:o

    Thanks in advance!

    Lucy
  • This is the recipe that I use in my 253. Works every time.

500 g (1.1 lb) White flour (Italian “00” flour or equivalent)
7 g (just slightly less than a tbs) Dried yeast (granulated)
    10 g (1/3 oz) Sea salt
4 g (Just slightly less than a tsp) Sugar
15 ml (1 level tbs) Extra virgin olive oil
300 ml (½ pint) Warm water (1 part boiling, 2 parts cold)

    Note:
With 500 g (1.1 lb) of flour you should be able to make 4 large thin pizza bases of about 30 cm diameter.

I find that it works far better than the one in the 253 recipe booklet. (Thanks again Toxic Lemon.)
  • Can anyone tell me whether you can wash foil containers in the DW? I thought I might re-use them but would need to know that they were cleaned at a high temperature. Thanks in anticipation.

Does anyone have a chicken soup recipe I can cook in my slow cooker? Have cooked a chicken in there already, but want to make the most of the juices!

Hi! Are you thinking of LETS - Local Exchange Trading? There's a link here.

People on our Freecycle site have experience of this scheme, so they might be worth a try too.

I think in the DW, they would move around and possibly flip over, so you end up with a bowl of bits in water.
Why not soak in hot water and then any burnt on/dried on stuff would come off easily, then sterilise in a warm oven....similar to a jam jar when making jam.
