    Bananas and cheese

Anyone following the daily thread will know I have been a bit KO'd with illness over the last 3 weeks, appetite not what it should be! Where I work does not produce the most conducive food for lunch and tbh I am too lazy to do sannies in the morning (don't particularly take to them anyway!).

I have been eating bananas (and having them on rolls which I love). I have a hankering to take cheese and biscuits into work too to supplement the diet as I can eat as many as I feel like. However, years ago I was told (an old wive's tale?) that you should not eat cheese with bananas! I know DGSs have cheese and bananas throughout day without ill effect. Has anyone else heard about the old wive's tale and ill effects? I can't afford to be ill any longer!

    Hi Bebee,

not a stupid question at all. Biological powders have biological enzymes in them that 'digest' stains in the same way that the enzymes in our bodies digest our food. They can digest biological stains like food, blood, grass, etc. Obviously, non-biological ones don't have them in. Some people find that biological powders leave a residue that irritates their skin. It is generally accepted that babies' clothes should be washed in non-bio to avoid irritation of their delicate skin.

DGSs have skin problems so always wash their stuff in non-bio Fairy with a good squirt of Stardrops and a squirt of Comfort baby conditioner. Bio would bring out the rashes. Would rather be cautious where they are concerned with any washing. DD grateful.. They sometimes goes home slightly flaired up - perhaps carpet or maybe what I give them to eat but dies down within a day.

Please be very gentle with me, as this is my first post although I have been lurking for quite a while and have picked up many useful hints and tips and am on here daily looking for more inspiration - anyway back to what I came for

Soak your oven wires etc, in hot water and biological powder overnight then wash/rinse and they come up a treat - mine were really bad and they look like new now.

Also, what can I do with a 132g of unopened Mint Madness Options drink thats just past its use by date (other than drink - and I cant stomach that much) discovered after cleaning cupboards yesterday.

    Thanks

If its 'use by' and is more than a few days over, then i would bin it. If its 'best before' i would still use it - prob in place of cocoa powder in a cake (maybe use a little less sugar as the drinking chocolate would have more added than cocoa).

"Best before" is far less urgent for using up, so don't bin it just yet! I am still using gravy granules best before 2004 and they're fine!
Sorry, no other ideas for your choclate powder except to substitute anything with cocoa in it
Save the earth, it's the only planet with chocolate! :)
