Just in process of applying for the magic card and have found that when clicking the link to view the Terms and Conditions (in step 1 of the application process) - it comes up with message box saying that the site is password protected and invites you to enter a password. Is it me . . . ?0

it seems to me that oleary just hates people as there is no concept of customer care. dont worry about this diabolical card just set up an epetition and make the son squirm. failing that try easyjet!0

I appreciate your response. As someone previously stated undeniably it is my wife's mistake, but certainly should be filtered out. I would love to see Ryanair petition and especially that I work at the airport I would convert 100s to sign it!0

Glad you appreciated the response Daniel. When I read your original post I just thought 'well doesn't that just take the biscuit?'. You actually try to play O'Leary's game exactly as he intends but then they are so careless to even cause you who coughed up protection money to end up as so much collateral damage in this unholy war against the UK authorities using us as pawns.
I actually saw O'Leary on Sky News today and I swore it wouldn't happen but the beggar made me smile involuntarily again
He was standing in the middle of the terminal at Manchester Airport where they have just re-based aircraft I think (must've been some kiss and make up between him and the airport - he walked and took his ball home from Manchester two or three years ago, didn't he? Maybe someone grew up a bit.)
I can only liken him to a really bad Channel 4 comedian where the humour is so rude in the 'how dare he say that' sense that he scares old ladies. On this occasion he was telling how he's opening up new routes from Leeds/Bradford to Greece just in time for the Greeks to get the hell out of Greece while they still can and spend their Euros here in UK whilst they still have some. I am very sorry but I just could not help smile at the cheek of the man.
He said whilst a break up of the Euro wouldn't necessarily be good for Ryanair (he was actually self-effacing on behalf of his countrymen and said something like "...and remember we in Ireland needed a bailout too") he thought that the fear of recession was actually good for Ryanair because of the price sensitivity it creates. He also predicted that Greek resorts might be good value next year !
Boulton did tell O'Leary "just hold on" whilst they interrupted him in full flow and ran a live shot of Obama pressing flesh at G20 - and today Obama neatly side stepped a repeat of the couldn't care less handshake with Sarkozy that Cameron got last week. When we came back to O'Leary we were treated with a serious political questioning by Boulton about how O'Leary thought it might be for those leaders gathered to thrash out a solution to the Eurozone crisis solution at G20. But not to be phased by being upstaged by the US president, the first thing he said was well they're the politicians and that broadly seemed to sum up his view on their efficacy.
In their present state, no match for him I fear so I feel more suffering of this anti Single Market third degree price discrimination nonsense before our lot even get close to sorting him out, e-petition or not.0 -
I'm having trouble even obtaining one of these cards.I just can't get past the card authentication page.
I 've contacted Ryaniar and they want two forms of identification etc.
This is all a bit of an effort , I just hope its worth it !
I also can't get past the authentication page. I've tried very many times at different times of the day with different initial payment cards, but I'm always rejected at the very end. I've written to Ryanair, but no reply yet. I had a Mastercard prepaid card which I used frequently .......... it makes me wonder if I'm not a desirable customer 'cos I avoid the extra charges!!!0 -
You can still book Ryanair flights via https://www.lowcostholidays.com
Card fees (appear to be) Credit card 2.5% debit card 1.25% Amex 2.99%0 -
I tried this morning and about 20 minutes ago to get one of the cashpassport cards and the authentication page just hangs. I use Firefox and I then tried with Internet Explorer and it works fine so the cashpassport website has not been fully tested with Firfox (and maybe other browers)0

Hmmm. I tried to make a dummy booking for Stansted to Leipzig. No go. Leipzig isn't on their system. So I tried to Berlin (Schoenefeld). I could 'buy' for £275 (no, I couldn't!) or secure the flights by paying a 'low' deposit of £335.
They wouldn't take AmEx even though the AmEx logo is on the website. Payment surcharges:
- Maestro/Visa Debit/Visa Electron: 1.25%
- Visa Credit/MC Credit: 2.50%
Still cheaper than Ryanair's payment surcharges of course, unless you want to go to Leipzig. No mention of prepaid cards.0 -
Thanks for the clarification.
That is outrageous! I had assumed it worked like the electron type debit cards that are issued with basic bank accounts that are authorized immediately...0 -
well it will work immediately if u can load the card without problems0
