Uh oh! Just realised I am a fraud. I did not have a NSD today. I had to buy petrol in order to get DS2 home from rugby! I shall reduce my list by one tomorrow.
(or can I list an extra positive thing as my ability to spot my own mistakes?)
    more kind regards
    Slowdown:)
  • Haha Slowdown you do make me chuckle. You can probably count petrol as an essential spend and still have a NSD. Are you on the NSD thread btw? Cuz I am on there too. I like that this thread is helping change the midset to a more positive outlook. It really helps me focus on getting good things done each day and also not focusing on the bad but reinforcing the positive. Its good that you had a meditate whilst waiting for ur son to finish rugby, thats what me and the OH call 'using up time credits' So that time is not wasted when you could spend it doing other things, i.e when I have to commute on the metro to work I usually do choreography in my head to try out later, or read, or go through my phone and make sure i have replied to all my messages :) i can't wait to get an iphone on my contract as i will be able to do emails and facebook too, instead of doing it when i get home. Right, I have waffled, sorry...positive things for wednesday.
    1. joined swagbucks last night and went on today and got a few points
    2. Had a meeting with the church hall to confirm costs and hire etc (all very exciting)
    3. Tidied the living room and had a good old sort out, it looks beautiful now :)
    4. Did all the washing (although heating has been on for a while today to dry it all. Sob!)
    5. Went for a good window shop in the charity shops AND didn't buy anything (usually happens on window shops) yaaay
    Don't turn a slip up into a give up:D
*NSD Challenge Nov 0/10* *£10 a day challenge Nov £0/£300*
No buying unnecessary toiletries challenge-in it for the long haul
    :D

  • Yesterday I didn't get to five.

    * I did a survey on crowdology
    * I obsessively played around on Swagbucks for about two hours. Up to 183 points. Must do less of this today!

    2. (MPC) Swagbucks stuff (109 points)
    3. (finances) Paid council tax
    4. (finances) Finished writing complaint letter to garage about our last service. Printed & ready to mail!
    5. (finances) Played Innocent Fruit Machine & won £1 off a smoothie.
    6. (finances) Transferred cider from bucket to demijohn.
    7. (DH) Made homemade coconut-orange flapjacks. Big hit with DH.

I love the ideas of 'using up time credits'. It is a great way of describing all those otherwise lost moments. I shall campaign for it to be included in the next edition of the Oxford English Dictionary. Would it go under u for 'using' or t for 'time credits'? I will ensure I use future time credits to mull it over.
I'm not on the NSD thread. I find too many threads get in a knot so I tend to stick to one thing at a time but it does sound inspiring.
Glad to hear you and everyone else had a successful Wednesday.
I hope you are recovering well vintage.
Now for the days positives so far. They won't be inspiring as work is not a good place to be at the moment
    22. had a NSD except for essentials such as DS1&2 lunch
    23. did not put the heating on (can I claim multiple on this or does it need to be changed daily?)
    24. sorted out options for DS1 in sixth form next year
    25. recycled more than I threw away
    26. used up dying veg in fridge for a curry
    27. helped a colleague with a problem when I really wanted to be doing something else
    28. did not commit fraud in any way, shape or form
    Good luck to you all
    Kind regards

  • Hello everyone :) Just thought it was time to pop in again and am so glad i did - its lovely to know that the focus on positive things is helpful to you all as well - i do struggle with it some days but its funny how just reading other peoples positives inspires me to think about my own achievements for the day :)

I have just read through all the other posts while playing vids on swagbucks and knitting an elephant ear - does that count for the time credits?? :D

swaggers i have now got up to 752 points so less than 100 to go for my next £5 :)

completed a survey on surveyhead for £3 odds :D its been ages on there that i have been waiting to get a survey completed to take me over cashout limit so delighted with that - just have to wait for it to be validated and i can cash out :)

knitted 2 elephant legs and half an ear so far today - want to try and finish the ear at least.

used lots of little bits of wool in my knitting as i had ripped out something else and had to break bits off (i would usually throw these out)

contacted McCains about my missing voucher yet again - i sent email and then decided to air my disgust about it on their facebook page - funny how that seemed to get their attention :)

applied for membership of the law centre here so i can find out about training i am interested in - this is a biggie as it links to me thinking about having a career again. :)

    had homemade soup for lunch

    posted ebay parcels

bought a couple of things in the charity shop that i believe i can make some money on - this is a risk tbh so could be a negative as well :( but i am pretty sure i can make a little bit on them at least - will have to wait and see.

Lodged some money from my savings tins into my bank account - i had £67 in there :)

I'm quite surprised at all the positives things i have managed to do today :)

I am also going to set myself a mini challenge for tomorrow - do feel free to join in if you want to. I am going to list 5 things on ebay tomorrow - i have been meaning to do it all week so tomorrow is going to be the day :D

I will let you all know how i get on tomorrow!

    Have a lovely sleep all

Crikes! Thats an impressive list Fairy. I am in awe of those who go onto sites and build up credits/money/freebies. I wouldn't know where to start.
For someone who is finding it hard to do the positives, (I know how this feels) you are doing a brilliant job.
    Very inspirational Fairy.
Just goes to show that we can all find some positives if we look hard enough
    Thank you and kind regards

    what a lovely post :)

Slowdown, PM Fairy. Or check out her website, link is on her profile. She kindly shares how to build up your points to be able to cash out. She convinced me not to leave max"miles and I am so pleased. Had 2 £10 vouchers already and half way to third :j
