Very strange!! Does this mean they may set up again at all of the same stores, but using a different name???0 -
Regarding the chargeback suggesstions..
just a thought here, but with a chargeback the bank will attempt to recover the money from the retailers bank -- if their merchant account has been terminated then would it not be the case the bank will be unable to recover the money for op?0 -

To be honest, I really don't know because I don't know enough about the chargeback process itself. No doubt someone will have a better idea how it works, but at the moment, for me personally, we're willing to try every available option to us to try & get our money back....0 -

no idea, but it may be a world of leather senario, where they were liquidated and in a matter of months their stores reopened under the name world of leather 2, same stock, same staff, same locations, but diff ltd company name, so no liability from the old company. then these vanished overnight to be replaced with land of leather.0 -

if you chargeback i think you would still get your money as the bank/merchant services provider will be a creditor of the company so will most liklely be owed money anyway and will just add your chargeback to what they are owed and inform the administrator0 -
:mad::mad:Hi All,
I Am APPAULED that these Charlatans have been allowed to trade, and "Yet Again" go under. About three/four years ago, my girlfriend, who operated a small family business supplied John Peters with stationary items. She first noticed that something was wrong when she didn't get paid for items that had been supplied. She begged and begged, and their reply was "don't worry, it's only money"
On the Friday, they went into administration! This was devestating news as her unpaid bills amounted to several thousands of pounds. To a very small business like hers this was extremely, serious, and eventually after months and months of waiting, the cash was written off. My girlfriend had many sleepless nights and almost had a breakdown, because of the worry. Thanks JP!
The annoying thing was, they folded on the Friday, and resumed trading AGAIN on the Saturday....what's that all about? Why is this allowed to happen?
She never did get paid, and these robbing bastar** continued to trade and drive about in their beautiful porches etc, suffice to say, she lost the business, as they went to somebnody else..........hope you get paid, whoever you are!
The moral of all of this is to just say how sad I am about ANYONE, who is being ripped off yet again by this. No one likes to see businesses in trouble but this is simply unacceptable. I bet the bosses still live very comfortably that's for sure!
This company is a disgrace, and yet again, I feel so sorry, for anyone who finds themselves cought up in all of this. I am sure, that yet again, many people will have been STUNG by these Robbing CHARLATANS, who yet again have been allowed to get away with it, Scot Free!
As far as the staff is concerned, go and work for a company who really CARES about people, John Peters, obviosly DO NOT!
Regards,

I ordered a sofa back in June. Was told delivery date would be early October - then that began to slip and slip again. Had letters and phone calls asssuring me delivery would be fullfilled, however there was obviously something wrong with their relationship with the manufacturer. Then got the letter from O'Hara informing me assetts have been sold to Oak Contract Solutions Ltd. Worried that they are operating from a Yahoo account!!! Have got in touch, and will be going to my bank later today. However did not pay with my credit card, used my VISA! And I knew better... will see how his develops.
Given their trading history, would think they are ripe for a bit of TV exposure. Or has that already happened?0 -
Hi I am new to all this and I also put a deposit down on a suite from John Peters on the 11th October 2011, paid on my Egg Credit Card. Since this I was informed that they had gone into liquidation so contacted the credit card company and raised a disputes form.
Now Egg have transferred to Barclaycard I was unsure they would be aware of the dispute so I rang them and guess what they are not aware of this? They also do not show the transaction on my Nov statement and advised that they may not have all come across from Egg yet and to check later in the week.
So currently don't know if my order is going to be completed or my dispute is going to be investigated.
Postman brought me a letter today from O'Hara saying that I had to contact OAK CONTRACT SOLUTIONS LIMITED in the first instance, which I have and wait a reply.
Did a search on a website (companiesintheuk.co.uk) and low and behold one of the directors of BUSINESS DREAM LIMITED is now a director of OAK CONTRACT SOLUTIONS LIMITED is there something fishy going on?0 -

well BUSINESS DREAM LIMITED is still an active company according to companies house all that has changed is their address to that of O'Hara and as OAK CONTRACT SOLUTIONS LIMITED is a dormant company then nothing could of been passed to them as this is a domant (non trading) company in the eyes of the law.
so this looks very fishy and O'Hara seems to be right in the middle of it0
