• I've just had my same liquidator's letter today, asking that we register our "interest" with Oak Contract Solutions Ltd, then if they're not willing to honour the order, I should contact the liquidators again................ I've e-mailed Oak Contract Solutions, giving details of the order, as requested, so I suppose now it's "watch this space".....:(

was it theirs or was it re or just possesed?

Thanks. Don't like the sound of that at all and certainly won't be paying them cash to release the goods unless it's "cash on delivery". After just being stung for a £500.00 deposit and within four days, they've gone into liquidation, with no warning, I have no intention of throwing good money after bad.....
• I placed an order with john peters in May 2011, I was expecting it to be delivered at the beginning of September.
When I phoned them in the middle of September they did not know anything about my order. After numerous telephone calls they promised that the order would have been delivered before the beginning of December and they agreed to give me a 10% discount(I thought it was a bit strange that they agreed so easily to give me the discount) Unfortunatley today I received the letter that the company is in Liquidation.
I paid over £1000 GBP as a deposit but fortunately I paid by Credit Card…so I am hoping to get my money back.
I have written to oakconstactsolutionshelp@yahoo.co.uk to find out if anything is happening with my order ( I doubt), I will keep you posted.
• Thanks for all the advice, we ordered our sofa's from John Peter's Guiseley on 31/07/11 and were expecting them to be delivered this month. I went to check with the store on 02/11/11 and the store was in darkness. When I went to the website to get a number to find out why, I saw the Liquidation notice. Being naive I rang O'Hara's and was told that there was a company interested in buying John Peters and that they may honour existing orders. I have now received the letter and decided to google the company and found this page. I am one of the lucky ones that paid their deposit with a credit card but would like the sofas I ordered. I have e-mailed oak contract solutions and will also have to watch this space.:(

Another sorry tale here. 2k+ worth of goods not arrived, since an order placed in July. Everytime my Wife called them, they said it was still abroad and hadn't been shipped over yet.
All paid by debit card. Email has been sent too oakconstactsolutionshelp@yahoo.co.uk Bank says to wait 30 days now, since that was sent to them.
Carr56 I assume you too emailed them (not a phone call .. if a phone call, what number ?), how long did it take them to reply ?
If they have set up another business, from the ruins of their last .. I feel like going round there and having it out with them and I'm in America.
My Wife who is registered disabled, has deck chairs in the living room and has done for the last few months waiting for the leather sofas ordered to come through.

well John Peters (BUSINESS DREAM LIMITED) is still an active ltd company with their addresses at O'Hara's office, which is strange in itself
oak contract solutions ltd is a dormant company owned by the same directors of BUSINESS DREAM LIMITED.

so John Peters furnishings, Business Dream Ltd and oak contract solutions ltd are all run by the same people, they have just closed shop on 1 and opened up again under a different name so the liability of the first 1 is lost as if the directors only have £1 shares then this is their total liability
