My renewal from Direct Line £175.
Best quote using confused.com etc. was Post Office at £117 after Post Office cash back.
Finally used Quidco for the first time and with Prudential got £162 less £100 Quidco cash back but have to pay £5 of this as admin fee to Quidco so ends up at final cost of £67, providing I actually get the money from Quidco. This will be a £108 saving from my renewal quote. I was really pleased with Quidco cash back rates.
I have to wait until September to renew my car insurance. I signed up to Quidco but haven't used it yet. My car insurance will be my first try. I got a quote through Quidco from the Pru too and it reduces my premium from £526 with Elephant.co.uk to about £200 after the cashback. Not bad for a 23yr old eh?! Hopefully the offers will still be there when I come to renew *fingers crossed* even if it does take 2 months on average to get the cashback!English by birth. GEORDIE by the grace of God.0 -

Please Help!!!!
I wouldnt be surprised if the details on the forms were a bit false, e.g locked garage, no body kits/alloys stated, doing few miles, commuting only etc, on top of adding several named drivers to lower premiums0 -
I was really fed up with Budget the other day when I tried to change my insurance from one car to another, they want £147 to change ! So I tried confused.com and the 2nd best result was with Budget at £104 !!
So i got them on the phone and they were not having it despite me having called their new business line and being given a policy ref number (which began with a P - very important it appears)
After battling with them for 3 days I gave up and took cover with swiftcover.com from confuseds list .
Now the catch, when I tried to cancel the old Budget policies I had they told me it would cost me £157 - just to cancel !
I am not happy, and now feel stuffed and a bit stupid - any advice ?0 -
Result! :j £45 for business use for my Peugeot diesel turbo. [All questions answered honestly!]. I used YES insurance via Quidco with my Egg Money cashback credit card.
Last year, the same insurance cost me £102 with 1stquote via Confused.com.
Interestingly, the YES insurance quote varied - e.g. it was £3 cheaper via Quidco than via Moneysupermarket.com!0 -
I've just found this article:
http://business.timesonline.co.uk/tol/business/money/article1971424.ece
Which basically states try alternative job title descriptions as they may give you a lower insurance quote. The article uses "lawyer" and "solicitor" , "landlord of licensed premises" and "publican", where using lawyer and publican mean cheaper quotes.I'm not cynical I'm realistic

What does it say in the small print of your budget policy documents?
If there is no charge specified or no charge range specified to cancel then you can complain. This complaint should follow the formal complaint procedure outlined in the policy documentation and you should use recorded delivery to send items.I'm not cynical I'm realistic

I will tell you how to get cheeper car insurance, its easy.
Start at least 2 weeks before its due,
Go to www.confused.com click on a price you like, then another , make it three, DONT BUY ANYTHING.
Now wait, you phone will ring its a call centre and will say how about trying this company, they put you through, no charge to you.
If you like the price ask for a ref number, DONT BUY YET.
Put the phone down and it will ring again,
Just keep going till one gives you a real good price, One hint if asked if you have a price take £20 off, they will do there best to match it, that gives you £20 to start. lol.
Just make sure you know what you nead from car insurance, like protected no claims.
Doing you car insurance this way can save loads, and can be fun to, I got this years insurance for less money than last year.0 -
