Got my lovely £15 gift card from Boots with a letter of apology, saying they would be taking up the matter with Lovefilm.
    Thanks for the help, everyone.

Also having a lot of trouble trying to get the Boots vouchers, but that's not the worst of it - they have taken me for £15.99 after the the account had been closed. When I emailed to ask for a refund they said they have me down for 2 accounts! It seems that they have another customer with an almost identical email address as me, who presumably is benefitting from my hard earned cash. Is this identify theft or just a stupid mistake on their part? Oh and cheeky sods offered to add on again the month of service that I had already paid for. There is no way I'm falling for that.

In answer to the original question posed by this thread- no, LoveFilm haven't sent a voucher through. I have emailed them 15 times to no avail, including to the email address in Post 1.
I have now phoned Boots who have kindly put points onto my card. :T
Seems awful to me though that they are having to pay for LoveFilm's mistakes...
  • OK if you have not yet received your voucher I will say this again.

DO NOT DEAL WITH LOVEFILM ANYMORE, THEY ARE TERRIBLE TO DEAL WITH.

Call Boots instead and tell them you have tried dealing with Lovefilm blah blah... you fulfilled your end of the deal etc. and they should send you a £15 voucher, no quibble.

    Call 01159182000 NOW!

As I said, I want proof that I didn't select the titles, copies of the T&C's and any other evidence.
If I don't receive this, I will take this complaint higher. I will also be contacting Boots.
    I await your reply

    Hi there
I am not at all satisfied in this response. Please can you provide me with proof that I only selected 8 items.
I think that this is very shoddy of your company and it was not clear in the offer.
Please can you propose what you plan to do about this. If a satisfactory response is not received, I will happily take this matter further. I know that I am not the only person to complain to you about this matter.
I feel that you are dragging Boots good name down with this.
I look forwards to receiving a reply soon
    Thanks

    Thank you for your e-mail.

We would like to inform you that one of the requirements was for customers to add 10-titles to their selection list on the day that they sign up. Unfortunately you have only added 8 titles on the 30/11 and therefore we are unable to send the cheque to you. Please accept my apologies for the inconvenience caused by this.

If you have any further clarification, please write back to us.

    Hi there
I signed up with lovefilm as part of a promotion you were running with Boots, whereby new subscribers were entitled to a boots voucher for taking part in the free trial. I have fulfilled all the criteria for the voucher, and as yet have still not received it. The following is taken from the terms and conditions:
Only users who have fully completed the registration process to sign up for the free trial and have received their first disc will receive their £15 Boots voucher. Your Boots vouchers will be dispatched within 30 days of registration. At expiry of the free trial period, credit/debit cards will be automatically billed for the monthly subscription fee based on the package selected, unless subscription has already been cancelled. Subscriptions may be cancelled at any time,

As you can see, the criteria for receiving the voucher, is to sign up for the free trial, and receive at least one disk from yourselves, which I have done.

I would be grateful if you could reply, and let me know when I can expect my voucher to be delivered.

    Many Thanks

  • HI

Same Here!!! No voucher. Cancelled end of December. Tried to contact them by e-mail & by phone no reply. Finally decided to ring Boots. Spk to a lovely man + advised me that lovefilm are have difficulties at the mo + have changed all the numbers. He promised me I will rec the voucher from Boots themselves as an appology. Im still gonna pursue Lovefilm. At the end of the day I think I should get another voucher for the fustration, anger and time Ive had to do.

JUST A LITTLE WARNING - DO NOT USE LOVEFILM - WASTE OF TIME !!!

I really hope Martin's watching all this.

Judging by MSE feedback alone, for every 'satisfied' Lovefees customer, there must be at least half a dozen who've been lied to, or systematically misled, or had monies taken from them in the most dubious of circumstances.

The notion that this behaviour is merely a reflection of 'incompetence' is as laughable as Lovefees' reputation on this board: incompetence implies accidental, and far too much has gone on for any reasonable person to see anything 'accidental' in Lovefees' behaviour.

No doubt its "commercial partners" -- like Boots, and like Comet, which are certainly not in the same class, thankfully, as a certain scumbag who came on here looking to pick up referral money from Lovefees by lying about Lovefees' donations to The Prince's Trust charity -- will be aware of the situation. . .

And will, like MSE in future, steer well clear -- assuming, that is, that Lovefilm International manages to stay in business much longer, because without all the promotional hype it's deriving by associating with respected, major, UK brand names, it hasn't a chance against straightforward DVD rental providers like Amazon UK.
