There was an earlier post than the Boots one with TescoDVD which is basically run by Lovefilm. They offered a £10 voucher for having a trial - several emails and no voucher.

i didn't cancel mine in time as received a dvd the day i was supposed to ring and cancel, (was told they don't cancel until they have dvd back) so i didn't watch it and posted it back recorded. rang first thing the next day and they said they had received the dvd back BUT already processed my £9.99 for February. because i took the free trial just before christmas i only got 1 dvd sent to me but i am sure i added nearly 20 to my account.
the funny thing is i said to the lady please cancel my account then as of now as i don't want the same thing to happen when i come to cancel in february and then two days later i received another dvd???
i will now have to phone and double check it is deff cancelled.
big mistake and now just hope i get the boots voucher as then at least i can say I have £5!!!!0 -

Here is my most recent e-mail from them:
Dear *****,
Thank you for your recent email.
This is to inform that you are not eligible for the £15 boots voucher
since you have not added 10 titles to your list at the time of registeration.
Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience caused.
For further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us again.
Kind regards,

I signed up back in September via a 'Stuff' magazine promo, to receive a free DVD (Sin City). I've never received it, and after multiple emails about it (getting a different reply from different people each time "please explain the problem further" etc) I've just given up.
Not happy!

I didn't receive my voucher either and have just sent them the email, as advised.
Thanks for the advice

I also received a similar message
"Thank you for your email. So long as you have followed the instructions in the
promotion, the free voucher would be automatically dispatched to you within 28
days from the date of registration. However the offer requires you to fulfil
certain criteria to be eligible for the voucher, including: registering for a
free trial period, filling in all the required personal information, using the
required promotional code (normally automatically added), and adding at least 10
items to your selection list. At the time of registration, and for a significant
period of time after that, you have had less than the required 10 items on your
selection list. I'm afraid this is the reason you have not received the free
voucher."
Can anyone confirm the 10 DVD rental condition?0 -

Me too!
I have been emailing back and forth with LoveFilm for goodness knows how long. Getting nowhere...
I have been informed many times that a voucher will be sent and that my information will be passed on to the correct department. Yada yada.
I forwarded the whole conversation to the email address from Martin in this thread and got a standard 'you didn't add 10 titles' email in response.
I was aware of this condition when I signed up and made very sure that I had 10 in my list so this is rubbish. Aargh...
Why on earth is this company still not following it's own Terms & Conditions and sending out these vouchers?
Can Trading Standards do anything do you think?0 -
I have just got a Email back from Lovefilm saying
Dear Douglas,
Thank you for your e-mail. One of the terms of the offer was that to be
eligible for the promotion, customers need to add at least 10 titles to
their list during registration. Unfortunately, as this criteria was not
met, you would not be eligible to receive the free voucher.
Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience caused, and don't
hesitate to contact us if you have any further comments or queries.
Kind regards,

The new way to rent DVDsMSE_Martin wrote:In December's e-mail I included a way to get a free DVD rental trial and a £15 Boots voucher on top (see original note). While many people have received the voucher, some haven't. Therefore I spoke to Lovefilm, and it has kindly agreed to set up a special e-mail for anyone having problems to try and sort it.
What to do?
If you haven't got your voucher.
Then first check
i. It's more than 30 days since you signed up for the deal
ii. You met the terms and conditions (see original note for more).
iii. Then e-mail love film at msesupport@lovefilm.com; including the following
a. Your Registered LOVEFiLM Email address
b. Your Registered post-code
c. The date you joined
d. Confirmation you have received at least one dispatch.
I hope this helps. While I also very much hope there won't be further issues, if there are and things aren't sorted, I will be keeping an eye on this and will try to help - yet give Lovefilm time to sort it through first please.

I've given up on Lovefilm, I'm now going to get Boots involved, I'd advise everyone else to put some pressure on them. Here is a copy of the e-mail I have sent to them:
Dear Boots,
I was very disappointed in the way I have been treated by your partner Lovefilm. I signed up to a Lovefilm promotion whereby I would receive a £15 voucher if I tried their online film rental service.
So, I signed up, selected some films and began to trial the service. During this time my voucher had not arrived, so I contacted Lovefilm to ask where it was. They informed me that if I provided my boots advantage number, they would ensure I got my voucher. This I did, but still I received nothing.
The trial was nearing the end so, before the 28 day period was up, I canceled all the DVD's in my selection, and sent back my remaining DVD's, giving myself plenty of time for the DVD's to arrive back at Lovefilm.
When I contacted them regarding whether my subscription had been canceled, they informed me that it hadn't, as the DVD's were not received before the 28 day period was up. This surprised me somewhat as Lovefilm themselves had sent me an email stating that I had no films selected in my account so they were unable to send any films to me!! So I was charged £15 for the following months subscription.
I then tried to chase up my Boots voucher and I was met with an email stating that because I had not selected 10 films to choose from, I was not eligible for the voucher. This was something that firstly was not clearly stated at the outset of the trial and secondly is frankly ridiculous. What has selecting 10 DVD's, that can't possibly be sent to you over the period of the trial, have to do with a customers eligibility for the vouchers?
Boots slogan is "Trust Boots" and I believe this should firmly stand with Boots chosen partners as well. As a direct result of how one of your partners have responded I have lost trust in the Boots brand as well as completely losing any trust with Lovefilm. There are many other customers who have also lost trust in both Lovefilm and Boots as can be seen from the numerous online forums.
I hope Boots are willing to get involved in these cases in order to help restore trust in the Boots brand.
Regards,
