Nuttybaby, how much star drops do you add to your mixture?

i use a good long squirt or 2 so probably about 200ml. I dont know if its the stardrops but my gloop goes very solid to begin with then it goes back to gloop after a few days!

I'm still working through detergent here, so haven't made gloop yet, but have the ingredients. But today the cat had come in though the window onto the white linen and left paw prints so I decided to try just washing soda and biotex....its the whitest wash I've had for AGES....

I'm amazed. Amazed. Not as good as the expensive detergent but far, far better.

Did you mean washing soda and borax LIR? I don't think I've seen Biotex in the shops for yonks. Do they still make it?

Nope, biotex! Isn't it great stuff? I can't think why I swapped it for more expensive stain stuff! I notice on the packaging its a which best buy too! I got mine at our smallish local Morrisons...it was on a bottom shelf tucked almost out of sight. ;)

edit: dh tells me I am mistaken and I bought i at a large tesco in a nearby market town. Ooops, sorry to give misinfrmation: BIG tescos, not small morrisons!

Your husband sounds like an interesting man. It's most unusual for a busy globe-trotting chap to remember where a laundry product was bought, wouldn't you say?

Textiles, languages, travel and a lovely home are not stupid things to want. You have immediate family's support.Appreciate what I've achieved so far. Other people's opinion of me is none of my business.

The DriPak site on Ebay is now selling borax substitute instead of borax - is this worth using for laundry? Does anyone know how it differs from the real thing?
I used borax for laundry and killing ants, but I can't find any anywhere now.

I understand that it works in exactly the same way as normal borax. I believe that borax has been withdrawn from sale but I'm not clear on exactly what the reason was

LOL, he Is interesting, and has an amazing memory...:) I think I also probably got a bit overexcited when i found it . :oTBH, I think I'm about the luckiest a woman can be with him. He also remembers what cosmetics i like and what perfume I like. I only get flowers once a year or so so he's not perfect....which is a relief as I'm a long way off!

Hello  In the middle of January I made some gloop - but then wasn't at home for 5 months due to a broken leg (long story!) I've just come back (hurrah) to find the gloop has exploded rather in my kitchen cupboard! I'd put the gloop into two 2 litre milk bottles and the pressure has exploded the lid and white dry stuff is all around the bottles. Has anyone else had this happen? How do I make sure this doesn't happen again (apart from not breaking my leg and staying away for 5 months ;))?

    Thanks in advance for advice!
