    Thank you to all the posters on this thread.

    I finally got the courage and made some laundry gloop. I used a bar of Falcon laundry soap, 1 cup of borax substitute, and 1 cup of soda crystals. It came out great and I have already done a few loads. The homemade concoction even worked on dried blood on a kitchen towel!
    I would not have dared make my own detergent except for threads like this one. So...
