I'm not convinced that borax will get clothes any cleaner than gloop just made with soda crystals but borax can be an effective stain-remover for whites.0

I really want to try gloop. The saving for us could be tremendous. But I can't quite believe it will work on our mucky laundry...no dogs, but lots of animals and keen gardeners and mud lovers.....can this handle it? mush commercial powder doesn't seem to!0

my gloop cleans better than stuff i have bought. i really noticed it when we went away and did washing using bold, the mud stains stayed on. if there is a really bad stain i rub a bit of gloop on it before putting it in the wash. i love my gloop!!!0 -
LIR, it's definitely worth giving it a try, especially of you include borax. I made about 10 litres of the stuff which cost me about £2 so if it's no good for your purposes you won't have wasted a huge amount of money. I find it cleans as well as anything else I've ever used before but I'm not a country-type who gardens and rides0

But I trust you....even if you are a city typeso I'll try it on your recommendation.
is there anything I can't use gloop on....delicates? wools? animal bedding?0 -
i use it for everything. i even tweaked it a bit for dishwasher gloop as well!!!0

I doubt it: the individual ingredients are pretty gentle although I haven't tried it on any silk garments but if I had some which needed to be laundered, I would.
n.b. I used grated Fairy household soap because I quite like the scent of it. Maybe I could post you a sample of mine to try if I can find a small container suitable.0 -

That's very dear of you, but as you say, its not a fortune to risk if it doesn't work and I don't want to add to your costs atm...unless you'd like a sample of greyhound in return:D...its discovered it has a singing voice...:eek:0 -

I reckon even I could find a quid for postage if you change your mind. If you make the gloop with borax don't expect to get any suds. It's odd at first not to see your stuff all nice and soapy but the borax is a good stain-shifter.
Such a talented dawg! Please, PLEASE take some footage of your beautiful greyhound and put it up on Youtube for me. What key does he sing in?0 -

lol, She;) sings in all keys. Simultaneously. She is learning, very slowly, that singing isn't truly desirable often.
an that while I'm n awe of her talent.....our new neighbours might not be, they aren't very close...but unchecked they will hear her, clearly. She annunciates clearly.
I know you would manage it, but you postage would be almost as much as my costs of experimentation, so convinced to try it I have decided to finish up what I have and then make some gloop.
Nuttybaby, how much star drops do you add to your mixture?0
