I ate as much of the ribs as I could but the rest I donated to the neighbours dog so at least it went into him and not the bin.:o0

Ahhhh, not good today!!
I had a couple of parsnips, which I knew where a little bit old, and I stupidly kept putting off blanching them and freezing them (I had all weekend and didnt do it!), so I planned to have them for dinner tonight, and of course, they were far too squidgy to be used. I estimate that at about 20p gone straight into the bin. Sigh, I really need to be more organised and less lazy!0 -
i made a pasta bake in the slow cooker using my own sauces (tinned toms and cheese sauce mixed togther) i had half a tin of sweetcorn/leftover chicken from the whole chicken/bacon leftover and it was lush xxxDs2 born 3/4/12 8lbs 8.5:j

First time posting because on the whole this has been an awesome month so far.
It's all very well for those of you who buy 8p eggs but I'm paying 24p each for eggs and two of them were broken *in the packet* and had been for ages when I came to use them. In my normal way I thought 'oh I'll pop them in a little pot and have scrambled eggs for breakfast tomorrow' but they looked very very dodgy and I threw them out. So 48p there.
Today I looked at the spinach and it was clearly on its last legs, as was the basil, so I quickly whipped up a pasta sauce to use them all up apart from perhaps 20p worth. I put in the rest of the fresh tomatoes from a huge bag off the market; but three of those were past using. I think that's probably another 15p. I found the end of a bag of pine nuts lurking, so they've gone in too. Total 83p.
Otherwise I've just audited the fridge and all is well, provided I make soup in the next couple of days to use up all the bits and pieces.Make £2023 in 2023: (all decluttering), current total £2860 me, £330 for friends & family, £468 charity donations.0 -
