  • Hi all

This is my first post for quite some time, used to post on here years ago but forgot all my user details and have since changed email addy too, so couldn't retrieve them:rolleyes:

Anyway, I could do with picking your brains, my DD1 turned veggie for 6 months and then three weeks ago, decided to go back to eating meat! Anyhow, its left me with a draw full of quorn stuff in the freezer, which we don't partculary like, but I am not throwing it away as I am soo on a strict budget:lipsrseal I can pretty well manage with the vegggie sausages and quorn mince, but I have a couple of bags of the quorn fillets, I just don't know what to do with them, I need some tasty ways of using them up, thank you and its great to be back:beer:

  • I love all of it, just use it like normal m**t, you can chop up the fillets and use in stir fry...

get some natural yogurt and some curry / chilli spice. cut up the fillets in small pieces, then marinade in the yog / spice mix. Treat as chicken tikka!!
Me, OH, grown DS, (other DS left home) and Mum (coming up 80!). Considering foster parenting. Hints and tips on saving £ always well received. Xx

Cut them up and use in a casserole? If the casserole sauce is strongly flavoured (I'm thinking tomatoes, red wine, etc) the quorn ends up fairly indistinguisable from cheap chicken, as far as I remember. (I don't eat quorn now but used to have it occasionally when I was still living at home as my sister's a veggie.)
Back after a very long break!
  • I would cook it for the minimum amount of time as it tends to go squishy if cooked too long and doesn't have much texture.
  • Chop it up and stick in a curry or casserole as suggested. Or cook in a sauce in the oven - I have used reggae reggae, sweet n sour - any really. In a pasta dish too.
Ever wonder about those people who spend £2 apiece on those little bottles of Evian water? Try spelling Evian backward.
  • I always marinade the fillets overnight so that they take on the flavours, such as Teriyaki quorn, bbq ect and use in stir fries or wraps
