Cooking with Quorn?

Hi
I'm a veggie and although the rest of the family aren't we eat quite a lot of quorn. I always use quorn mice in chilli, shepherds pie etc and when we've had friends over they've not even noticed the difference. I bulk it out with red lentils, half and half, which makes it go much further.
I also use quorn oieces a lot, basically as I would chicken - so I might make quorn and mucshroom pie, quorn curry, lemon peppered quorn fillets....etc. I find it handy as a quickie when I've not thought about tea and the kids are hungry as it can be cooked from frozen so I can rustle up a quorn and veg pasta bake in no time at all.

Just reporting back, my quorn was delicious and for the amount of spices i put in, it really didn't absorb half of them . The vegetarian nummed it all up too , so i won pointsA little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men

I have 2/3rds of a quorn family roast left over, DH who like quorn but doesn't like the texture of it as a slice it's too meat like and i just found it tasteless, anybody have any ideas of using it to make something else? or should i just cut my losses and bin it.
Many thanks0 -
Sliced thinly for packed lunch sandwiches, with some cranberry sauce to brighten it up?
Chopped up and made into a curry, or chilli?
I think I saw these recently on 3 for £5 in tosco which I thought was quite a bargain... They don't look too appetising, do theyBossymoo

Cube it and use with a bolognaise sauce and pasta or have with a salad.0

I have the same problem with DD every Christmas. she likes the quorn roast as slices for her Christmas dinner instead of fillets, so I chop it up, mix it with a Tablespoon of cranberry sauce or you could use redcurrant sauce or even branston then mix with a little white sauce and make little pasties for her lunch boxesBlessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

I used to make a potato topped pie with leftover Quorn roast. I just used to make up a white sauce (just as though you're making a chicken pie filling) & put leeks, mushrooms & the chunked up Quorn in it, season well, chuck it in a dish & top with mashed potatoes. If you don't find it's got much flavour on its own, you can add herbs, etc, to the pie filling & it makes a nice meal. Good in curry too.2025's challenges: 1) To fill our 10 Savings Pots to their healthiest level ever

If you like Marmite, that'll boost the taste factor for you; I'd add this and go with foxgloves style of idea.If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0
