I'm not vegetarian, I just eat very little meat. Quorn mince is a mainstay for my bolognese and other dishes, and occasionally I get the chicken flavoured pieces.

Not Quorn sausages though - I prefer the Cauldron tofu ones. :)
Be careful who you open up to. Today it's ears, tomorrow it's mouth.
  • ive been veggie for over 13 years now, and LOVE quorn (and cauldron lincolnshire sausages!!)

I use it pretty much every meal time, just as you would use chicken (although it doesnt need to be cooked a long). I use the quorn pieces for, sweet and sour chicken, curry, stews, pasta bakes, on hm pizzas, i use the mince too in cottage pies etc.

it is SO easy to cook, and so quick, also very low in fat. My OH cant even tell the difference sometimes! we have had guests that cant tell the difference too!

there are lots of recipes on the quorn website i think
  • Bought a couple of packs of frozen quorn fillets and they have been stuck in freezer as not sure what to cook them with. Anyone have any tasty recipees for these please, especially enjoy something hot and spicy.

I love these. For spicy I usually microwave them for a couple of minutes, then cut into strips and cook with a spicy stir fry sauce (you know, the ones that you get in sachets) and then serve on top of stirfried veg.

    Yummy

I do something similar, jar of tikka sauce and chop the fillets into cubes - great on jacket potatoes, sandwiches with salad and mayo, inside wraps with salad or with naan and raita. enjoy !

    Hi chocolatepennyfarthing,

I've merged your thread with an older one on quorn that should give you some more ideas. If you have a slow cooker there are more suggestions on this thread: Can you cook quorn in a slow cooker?

I am veggie and eat Quorn once or twice a week. I really like it and use it just the same way I would cook with mince. I made a Quorn lasagne the other evening and my OH said that you couldn't tell it wasn't real mince. He may have just been being polite, though he's not usually, and he did clear his plate so I think he enjoyed it :j

I made a shepherds pie for my OH using Quorn mince and although I thought it would be a disaster he thought it was fab (we're both meat eaters though on Slimming World)

texture of chicken, but doesnt actually have a taste of any sort

use the minced version, as you would use any other sort of mince. the chunks are good as a chicken substitute in pies and curries, etc, and the roast, well, its like a large sausage, but again, with very little flavour

personally i find the ready-made quorn products better, so the fillets in breadcrumb type things, pies, pasties, etc
