OK. We're not quite there yet. However if you do a search now and you select view posts - you can see all the posts. - now we've just got to work it out for 'New posts'Martin Lewis, Money Saving Expert.

what 'view posts'
If you go into the advanced search and then click Search resuls as...posts then it shows you the full message now instead of just the beginningMSE_Martin wrote:OK. We're not quite there yet. You could use the same cheat that was used on the old forum - remember when you could search for a " " (space) and it would bring back all the results?
If you set in options that the minimum word size for a search term is 1 instead of 4 - then entering a * in the advanced search and clicking search results as posts should return all the last 500 posts
They say that reducing the minimum word size will make the database bigger - but I don't know if they mean a little bigger or REALLY bigger0 -

ah now I understand, confused when Martin said you see all the posts(which we already could)..............not all the full posts
thanks sra0 -
I cannot find "Minimum Word Size For A Search Term" in "User CP, Edit Options" to change from 4 to 1.
Can you point me in the right direction.
Thanks in advance.

sorry - I worded that badly -
This isn't an option we can change. I was suggesting to Martin that he might try changing the whole sites default.
But as I said, I don't know if that would make the search index too big on a site this size0 -
I think a slap is appropriate

hardly been on the site since it changed over and we lost the "recent posts" facility.... really do miss the benefit of being able to quickly look through lots of posts as they used to be listed.
No matter how much i try it is just so laborious now having to go to a board .. pick a thread and then go into and through the postings.
just can't be bothered ,, far too much time and effort.
martin and others did acknowledge my and other peoples screams for the return of this facility . i think the last posting some weeks ago was " maybe one day" ...
any news ??0
