Vista not booting

Oh - I thought you wanted clarification of what happened re the corrupt files. Yes - after attempting to load the drivers, Vista was displayed in the dialogue box. I think it was shortly after that I chose "Start up repair" (or something like that) and "can't find anything to repair" was displayed0

Ok. Thank you.
So, let's go through the same process, but this time go directly to Command Prompt. Command Prompt in the Windows Recovery Environment in order to run sfc /scannow0 -
Just tried the Command Prompt Scannow - "Windows Resource Protection could not perform the requested operations"
(most of the drivers seemed to load. That media and sataraid failled to install.)
Thanks

Why are you doing this? I covered this in post #57.0 -
It doesn't find Vista until I have loaded some of the drivers0

Ok, I'm with you now. Which Drivers do you have to load before it is recognised?
Not sure why the operations are failing. Can't see an option in the BIOS/system set-up that changes the way the HDD is recognised.
Is it Vista 32 bit that you are running?0 -
If it comes to it, you can attempt a Repair Install.0
-
Not sure which drivers. Up to now I've always loaded as many as I could but Vista appears long before I've finished. There are always so many drivers in so many folders. 32 bit - yes.
I'll look at that Repair Install later
