quick update, offer of £5,700 received for claim on 5 loans dating back to 1998..to be paid directly into my Lloyds account in their words"as soon as possible" interest paid upto nov 11th.
not bad for one letter of complaint and a quick phone call!!
thanks for all the invaluable information thats been posted on this
wonderful forum. good luck everyone :rotfl:0 -
just a quickie am i liable for tax ? and if so how much ?
thanks0 -
Not sure if I'm correct or not but I think it's only the interest that is taxable as the rest of it was taxed in the first place.0

Has anyone else NOT received an offer letter?
complaint letter sent in beginning of May, letter saying complaint had been upheld received 26 August - haven't heard anything since.
We have rung them several times and they confirmed that they received our acceptance and it is with the calculations department, but they can't give us a timescale.
It's so frustrating! Certainly makes me determined never to take out any kind of product from Lloyds group ever again!0 -
Claim made 3rd May
Ackowledged 18th May
Further update letter 22nd June
Offer made 5th Sept
Dispute offer - was for extra costs incurred when loans were ended and refinancing only and amounted to £1500 approx
Called mid Sep after getting my head round how they came to the figure and have to say VERY nice people at customer services both times BUT unable to help apart from "have passed on and someone will call"
NO CALLS
Sent further letter to them on 3rd Oct
Called mid Oct but said it was their final offer
Spoke to someone at FSO - VERY helpful and advised I accept making it clear it was as PARTIAL resettlement only as it could take up to a year if I pass it to their complaints dept.
Have written another letter outlining ALL reasons why I was mis-sold and treated unfairly
1st loan - was a teacher with employer benefits
Subsequent loans was self employed and had work with fixed term contracts
They knew but urged/suggested it would still be wise to take PPI and obviously thought it might queer the pitch so to speak if I refused the PPI
Will send letter after final read through/edit and after calling FSO again
So heres hoping I will receive £1500 and await the extra refunds of about £3500 as and when ?!0 -
Started claim 23rd May. Recieved confirmation of an offer 8th September. Still no cheque recieved. Last month managed to accumilate a few bank charges due to being slightly skint... Thay are still going to charge me and if not paid they will charge again! Funny when it comes to the other way round.... Good old Lloyds....0

Claim submitted 5th June 2011 using MSE template letter - Thanks MSE!
Settlement offer of approx £8k received around 22nd Sep 11 with calculation sheet to October 11. Letter said Personal Loan Dept. would send recalculation figures to me within 21 days
Phoned PPI Dept end early October to clarify how repayment would be made - as it wasn't made clear in letter. PPI Dept said payment would go to Personal Loan Dept to offset against loan (fair enough) and interest by cheque to me. Also said details were passed to Loan Dept on 28th Sept.
Called PPI Dept end of October for update and they confirmed backlog but were non-committal on any sort of payment date - this year or next!! Basically said it was now down to Loans Dept to sort out and put me through to them. Loans Dept said they've heard nothing about my claim at all, and tried to call PPI Dept themselves but couldn't get through. We are now going around in circles, with each dept blaming the other.
PPI manager I spoke to was also pretty useless when I suggested that it might be a good idea to write a letter to all PPI claimants explaining the further delays. He thought that was a bit beyond their capabilities - I tend to agree, and shall kick myself later for making such a stupid suggestion.
Branch account manager utterly useless too. Chocolate teapot springs to mind. Pestered me for weeks back in May to re-finance my loan, unwittingly spurring me on into making my claim just to get them off my back, and also said I would only be due about £800/£1100 max if I was successful (Ha! 10x your best guess, matey). Now they can't, or won't, lift a finger to get PPI/Loan depts talking to each other.
Appalling Customer Services by Lloyds - and I haven't even started on the length of time it takes anyone to answer a phone call.
Absolutely disgusted by the lot of them - been a customer for 25 odd years. Even Santander looks a better bet these days, and that's going some!0 -
